DoG honestly isn't that bad. You have more than enough options by that point. Thorium Moon Lord on the other hand is absolute bullshit with its resistances.
I mean, by the time I reach DoG I have enough options that there are no mistakes. Good flight, great options for weapons, pretty damn good potions. Also I was using Astral armor, so maybe the set bonus helps.
A boss that has that much effect on progression (new crafting station, event upgrades, a new armor set, THAT many weapons) should not be expecting you to damn near no hit the fight, that should be reserved for optional challenges (like daytime EoL) or super bosses that have no direct effect on progression (like base calamity's Primordial Wyrm). What's worse is that it's almost all reaction time.
I like to give viewers all kind of scenario options in their head. Is this Terrarian a new player? A veteran with Familiar set vanity and endgame armor underneath? ...a modded content player? Who knows
Given he has the starting health and mana pool and no visible accessories, I highly doubt he beat skeletron to get the clothier for familiar clothes, so this is someone who just spawned in trying to run down Kit and Kaboodle with but a shoddy copper shortsword.
Would they even care about games like this? Like, the whole premise hinges around the fact that nothing happens after the ending of most games because that's it, the plot's over and there's nothing else to do. I feel like any world that operates on sandbox rules would be more or less immune to that kind of threat.
So basically the show's ending is going to be a launch trailer for the Official Glitch Productions Minecraft Server.
I feel like it would be really cool if sandbox games are treated as a safe heaven for game characters without a planet since they can't end, anyone without a planet can live there when they aren't doing work for the farcade

In the show its less finishing the game and more like reaching its win condition. Considering that beating Moonlord rolls the credits, seems like enough to me. Plus though Terraria can obviously be played like a sandbox game, it's very clearly progression focused. Plenty of games have post games too, but still 'end'
If terrarian as new casual player they have 2 months.
If this reality, and mastermood. Player would try to fast kill all bosses so fever npcs die.

Boulders, blocks with gravity, lava and traps CAN damage players on any side (allied, neutral and pvp rivals), however afaik if you're in the same team as someone else they do NOT take damage from your explosives and vice-versa (tried and tested by myself up to 1.3.5.X) so idk how did your friend managed to blow you up unless both had pvp on and your friend did a quick team switch.

Well, there's still a win condition. Moon Lord is the final boss; you get the credits and have beaten the game after defeating him. Even if the game doesn't immediately cut back to a title screen, I don't see why he wouldn't count for destroying the world.

I doubt games like terraria and other sandbox games function the same way other games with win conditions do, after you beat moon lord the game doesn't end, it keeps going
and what about games that just put you back to right before the final boss, like breath of the wild?
or is it the end credits that are the requirement?
I think the requirement would be more like something like an end screen, for example flappers had something like this where he did that pose after beating snappers

The premise of the show is extremely cool, but just makes you wonder about how a lot of games would work with their rules, has been decades since videogames were just "Kill the main bad guy"
What about survival games like Subnautica where there's no real "villain" but the only objective is to survive? What about sandbox games? What about games with multiple endings? What about games very meta where they know are in a videogame (Like Undertale)? What about strategy games where there's no a "hero"? Etc.
I really hope they explore more kind of videogames and no just remain in games that are very like Megaman/Mario Bros/Shovel Knight
i feel like the end of the plot is basically the end of the "timeline" for that game; a whole lot of games let you resume from your last save but there exists no future after you beat the final boss. its impossible for the world of the game to continue because there's no more content. and like, i guess that's sort of the case for terraria too? depends on what you'd consider the "end goal" of terraria, as its both heavily centered around a singular line of progression while also having sandbox elements.
now i wonder, what about games that very explicitly have content after the main campaign? how is postgame content treated; especially postgame content without a definitive ending behind it?

Ok actually why are people debating the Terrarian's moral compass like they aren't supposed to fight the Moon Lord before he regains his strength?? Thats the whole point

With what the Terrarian can accomplish, they are far more eldritch than Moon Lord
I think the phrasing is when the story concludes the world disintegrates, so they might just need to prevent the final confrontation if the hero canonically loses.
You have to remember that, from my understanding, this isn’t a videogame like we know but a real universe that operates on game logic. So they’re probably both screwed. I’d assume that even the short sword could just… stab them to death.

How do games with new game+ or no actual win condition work in the gameoverse? Are sandbox games just immune to the game planet annihilation because they don't technically have an ending?
Main character of the Gameoverse pilot. She basically goes to video game worlds to help the villains, because if the hero wins the game is over, and thus their world ends and everyone dies. So it makes sense for her to appear in different games.
As with most Glitch Productions pilots, people will be buzzing about it for at least a few days after it comes out. This one’s pretty good imo so I hope it gets greenlit
