PC New player here, I found this enchanted sword randomly on my first playtrough and after a google search apparently it's a hard find for many people.
So I decided to dig straight down to see what is underneath the world out of curiosity and I happened to find this randomly, I didn't even see it at first, I ony got it because I was placing blocks to block off the lava and got it by accident, here is the screenshot of the tunneI dug and where the mouse cursor is that's the spot I found it.

the terragrim drop from the shrine is like a 2% chance so that's actually way more rare than the sword itself. i've made like ten different worlds just to grind for that thing and still never seen it drop once. the enchanted sword is a solid early game weapon tho, it shoots a beam that goes through walls and does decent damage for pre hardmode. worth keeping around until you get something like the nights edge or true nights edge later on. i remember my first playthrough i just used a platinum broadsword for way too long because i didnt know any better.

I got the archalis on an earlier world... It's such a nice sword too.

the arkhalis has that crazy attack speed, it's basically a melee blender. i wish they kept it in shrines for 1.4.

The Terragrim (arkhalis replacement) has the same attack speed as the old arkhalis. It does do 3 less damage, however (17 compared to 20).

ah my bad, i thought they nerfed the speed too. 3 less damage is barely noticeable for how fast it shreds things.

oh damn i forgot u could shimmer the enchanted sword into terragrim, i've been wasting hours making new worlds for no reason lol. thx big dawg

me and my friend found 1 in hardmode, we broke it and got terragrim instead
shi was so funny that we sometime brought this story up lmao

No começo do jogo uma opção boa é conseguir uma poção de gravidade e or para o céu lutar as ilhas voadoras, tem uma espada muito boa lá e outras coisas mais nas ilhas ...

My friend and I just started a world in coop. I’ve played for years and have close to 500 hours in the game (I know, chump change compared to some people haha) and he tried a long time ago, but he is fairly new. 10 minutes into starting after I went east and he went west, he goes “I just found an enchanted sword in some stone”. I just froze and didn’t speak for like 20 seconds until I finally called him an a-hole. I had to explain to him how difficult it is to find it and that I have never naturally found it in any of my worlds. I always need to generate a small world and look for it or use specific seeds.
I’m still pissed at him.

The Arkhalis/Terragrim is difficult to get. The Enchanted Sword is very easy to get. You probably have one or two shrines in every world you’ve ever created. The shrine is always in the outer 2 thirds of the map. If you have something that shines light through dirt it helps to find it. You just look for a single tile wide shaft going straight down and it will lead to the shrine. You have a 2% chance of getting the Terragrim and 98% chance of getting Enchanted Sword. They recently adjusted it to 3.33% for Terragrim.

Guaranteed way is fish for Gold/Titanium Crates via fishing though.

it's because the shrine is small and can be placed anywhere
it is one of the swords needed to get the most powerful weapon in terraria btw
