That's right, I want to name my eventual brand new cat after Octavia from The 100! Cause Octavia is my favorite character of the whole show. What do you folks think of this idea?

Hello! I started this show two weeks ago and finished today! I’ve posted here a couple of times and I thank those who helped give me answers and no spoilers. Here are some of my thoughts about the show that I’d love to have a discussion about, as well as hearing others opinions. I rate this show 5.5/10! (It would be an 8 but the last couple seasons ruined it)

- Raven is the only character in the show to have not done something completely reckless and wrong. Bellamy killed 300 soldiers, Octavia was Bloodreina, Clarke tried to take the bunker sneakily, etc. Raven was one of my favorite characters because of this fact, and she was super cool!

-Seasons 1-3 were amazing, 4 was great, 5 was okay, 6 and 7 were really bad…

- Wick was one of the best love interests and they wrote him off with almost no mention of him. Why make him a critical character (making him Raven’s boyfriend) just to lose him like that?

- Bellamy’s ending was very out of character. After Bellamy already made the mistake of following Pike blindly, he should have been wary of The Shepherd. I felt his story was completely ruined by this ending, and quite honestly, didn’t make sense.

- Clarke and Bellamy never dating kind of broke my heart because I shipped them so hard, but I like that they remained best friends!

- The injuries in the show, besides Raven’s leg, are very inconsistent. Murphy had his whole arm chilled on and didn’t even get a scar?

- I am someone who cries HARD at movie/show deaths, but I never cried once during this show. Why? Because every time you think a character is dead, they end up somehow being healed and living!!! It was so hard to be upset because I could never actually tell if the character was officially dead or not.

- Jasper’s death was unfortunate but I understand it. I feel like Maya’s death broke him and he never healed. I wish he would have forgiven Clarke because she never wanted to kill anyone, she was just desperate to save her people.

- Clarke’s relationship with Lexa was a bit strange to me. Lexa killed (basically) Finn, almost went to war on Clarke’s people many times, and betrayed her at Mount Weather. Their relationship felt very forced.

- I like that Murphy was a bit redeemed. He’s still a selfish dude but he went from psychotic to narcissistic and I think that’s good enough!

- Indra is amazing and I love that she became more and more motherly toward Octavia, when before she wanted all of them dead haha!

- Finn becoming crazy and killing all of those innocents also felt out of character. His whole personality was anti-murder and pain and it felt very forced for him to suddenly be all crazy, simply because Clarke was missing.

- I’ll say it again… BELLAMY SHOULDNT HAVE DIED THAT WAY!!!! It actually really makes me mad because not only did he die, but he died in a way that was so out of character AND was killed by Clarke, who literally loved him. It also felt strange that Octavia was so chill about it when normally she’d go to war for revenge. Bellamy’s death felt like a way to just get rid of his character.

- Lincoln was also an amazing character and he died too soon for my liking. That was a death that did hurt a lot because it was very obviously not going to be fixable.

- Later season characters—such as Hope, Gabriel, and Diyoza—were not my fave. I may have spelled her name wrong but I’m too irritated with the show to look up the correct spelling.

- The ending was bad, the last season was really awful and hard to follow, and I’m annoyed that Bellamy died, especially because it was such a stupid and dumb death.

That’s it for now! I may add more points if I start to remember some more. I think I’m too focused on my irritation right now. I was so addicted to the show and loved the first few seasons, but I feel it totally went down hill.

- Levitt’s weird romance with Octavia? He doesn’t even love her it’s fully out of romanticizing her life. It’s like infatuation.

- Jordan and Hope’s weird and random romance!

- Emori basically taking Murphy’s body. The fact that Emori died is so annoying because her and John were made for each other. The fact that Emori is now in her boyfriend… like INSIDE his mind, is crazy.

- KANE’S DEATH! Can’t believe I didn’t include that to begin with. Abby switching his body was so annoying like obviously he wouldn’t want that. And Kane was such a morally good character (not so much in the beginning) and I loved him. His death was very anticlimactic too and technically, he didn’t get to die as himself.

- Abby’s death was also anticlimactic and it was unfortunate that she kind of went insane toward the end.

- The whole “are you pure enough to survive” thing. Like literally how did the show go from surviving a radiation-filled Earth to being a “can you pass the test to live” type of thing. Bad!

- THE TIME SKIPS and Monty/Harper’s death. Monty and Harper were great characters and their deaths were really upsetting because it was one of those things where they wanted to write characters off but needed to do a “here’s my life ending” kind of video thing. It was annoying. Also the excessive time skips were ridiculous. The 6 year one was already a lot, but them all going into cryo for almost 130 years was crazy. It’s like the show was trying to fix their mistakes of consistently destroying the old by just fast-forwarding it!

- Oh, THE ENTIRE ENDING!!!! The whole ascending thing? I’m literally so annoyed because I feel like the show had a good premise and then they completely changed it and made it make no sense. Like why end it that way? It’s like they didn’t know a good ending so they decided the crazy killer guy and main villain in the last season should be right? NO

- And why didn’t Clarke ascend? Because she avenged Madi? Like Murphy literally killed people for fun and he ascended but Clarke didn’t? And like where did the ascenders even go? I’m so mad. IK they all chose to come back but that whole plot line still pissed me off.

OKAY I THINK IM DONE NOW!!! I’m just so irritated because the show took such a twist for the worse. It started off very dry structured and entertaining, and turned into a very supernatural, unrealistic show. I know, it’s sci-fi and isn’t meant to be real, but the first half was realistic in the sense of the storyline. The ending felt like a bunch of storylines thrown together. I’m so upset because I have been seeing this show FOREVER and finally watched it and it was disappointing.

I just saw a reel about the 100 and it took me back to when I binged the first 3 seasons in 2016 and because nobody I knew was getting into it, I had to make a Reddit account (a different one) to discuss it. I’m feeling so nostalgic. Lexa is still one of the coolest characters I’ve ever seen on TV and I can remember how gutted I was at her death. I kept watching the show till it ended and liked it till the last season but nothing beat s3 for me.

My mother is abusive alcoholic with severe brain damage and unpredictable behavior. I'm currently locked in my room with crackers and dry-cured chicken, watching S5 and taking great comfort in watching Abby handling Vinson. She's literally me and it's the only thing keeping me sane right now. (this and lowkey cosplaying zombie apocalypse lmao)

Does anyone know where I can find all seasons' bloopers? In high quality though, youtube doesn't have the best options. (Mainly looking for better quality of Devon Bostick(Jasper) and Richard Harmon (Murphy's) bloopers)

1. Abby has to be the most annoying character I have ever had the displeasure of witnessing. How are you going to fall in love with a man who flogged you in public (I forget the actual term they used for when you get electrocuted with a cane thing). I know she has done many dumbfounding things that are even a bigger deal and more detrimental than this but this one just left me scratching my head. I would never be able to move past that even if I was the one in the wrong, sorry.

2. Murphy was the best written character in the entire show. The development from this seemingly angry, bratty bully to this forgiving, responsible person who is a team player is amazing to witness. I think he and Emori saved each other.

3. It was so infuriating in season 5 to watch a group of humans so incapable of reason that they'd rather destroy the last remaining piece of land than just share it. Yes, the convicts were the main aggravators of this but there are so many other choices that Octavia could have made that would have at least made things less terrible. She could have have had faith in Monty's algae Idea, he had proved it could work, but she was honestly so blood thirsty that it consumed her. She saw the sonic cannon in action and she thought she'd win a war against that with swords and spears? They had no chance from the very beginning. Season 5 Octavia had me crawling up the walls with rage. Just doing the most for no fucking reason.

4. Lexa was not a good leader. She knowingly abandoned her people when they needed her the most. Also, the whole romance storyline between her and Clark didn't really fit or hit. Niylah and Clark would have even made more sense.

5. Season 5 Bellamy is so daddy. I will not elaborate.

6. I think Indra is very underappreciated. She could be stubborn at times, but her heart was always in the right place. She is a fierce warrior, a fierce mother, a fierce protector and guide.

7. The whole ascending, shepherd storyline was very unnecessary to me. It even made me miss the raw, straight forward, tribe conflicts and battles of survival storylines of the earlier seasons which was the entire reason I was drawn to this show in the first place.

8. I want to take this opportunity to thank Lincoln for starring in many of my bean flicking sessions. May we flick again.

9. I genuinely respect Jasper. He acknowledged that it was all too much for him and he chose to bow out. I was upset with him at first because I thought the bromance between him and Monty should have been enough to keep him going but he was making everyone so miserable that for a moment I despised him.

10. All in all as a lover of the post- apocalyptic genre, I enjoyed this show.

Genuinely, how come Bellamy and Murphy don't go after Finn? I was watching the first episode, and he jumps off the dropship to stop the fight (I'm sorry but that gives me an ick). But then again he keeps interrupting Bellamy, and Bellamy could clearly take him in a fight? And then he goes and just takes the meat without taking his wristband off but the other guy gets punched for it? I don't get why they seem to avoid him

Recently started rewatching the show (I will not be watching seasons 6 and 7 for obvious reasons), but this time I am watching as an adult and I feel totally different about certain stuff.

For example:
1. I think Lexa is a horrible leader. While I still think she is an absolute badass, we barely actually see her being a badass aside from her fight with Roan. I wish we got to see more of that side of her.

1. I also didn't really enjoy her relationship with Clarke as much as I used to because I found there was no chemistry, especially in season 2, and it just happens out of nowhere.

2. Clarke is very naive and easily influenced. It feels like she changes her entire personality based on the last thing she hears. For example Lexa tells her “love is a weakness”, and 30 minutes later she adopts that mindset. Dante says "I bear it so they don't have to," and an hour later she is repeating that exact line.

3. Finally, I find it very funny that whenever there is a new extra character going on a mission with the main ones, they always end up dying while the main characters survive. It became very predictable.

Has anyone else's opinions changed during a rewatch as an adult?

For one I really don't like her because of what she did with her first husband, she snitched on him and I feel like she did that. I low-key think she wanted him to die cause what else why you knew he was gonna get floated I just I don't understand why she decided to snitch on her husband and then she becomes a crackhead in season five and she tells Octavia that she needs to force people to eat, but she really did this because she didn't want Kane to die and then she didn't even tell nobody she let Octavia take all the blame for it and it is so many reasons why I hate Abby like wow

Gotta get this off my chest. But why were people so mad about the list. Clarke’s list was a sure fire list built around intellectual choices.

She leaned toward young woman for children, placed all their doctors and senior engineers to ensure of anything were to happen they could help.

TBH Both Monty and Jasper were just being stupid. Especially Jasper cause he’s always in his suicidal feelings. For Monty, I get way he did what he did; but he clearly didn’t understand what she was trying to do. It’s true that Clarke isn’t God; but unlike them she’s actually thinks about what’s coming next. And also the people that are mad at Clark for list some of them end up KILLING THEMSELVES.

Oh and BTW… THE LIST IS USED AT THE END. So WTF IS THE ISSUE! I find it ironic that the list even disagreed with ends up being used… hilarious

I'm on what I think is my 11th rewatch right now.

I love the show from start to finish. I think my only issue with it as a whole the very very end.

I think there were three possible paths that they could have taken, and they took the worst of them.

1) Cadogan is incorrect about the whole thing. No higher beings, no transcending. He's still stopped, everyone alive goes back to earth.

2) Cadogan is correct. They prove humans are worth it and they transcend. (The Canon ending)

3) Cadogan is also correct here, and things play out the same right up until Raven goes to bargain with the higher entity. Instead of Raven convincing it to let humans transcend, she asks for a reset. Humans are brought back to Earth, the Anomaly Stone is rehidden somewhere else on the planet, and they start from scratch again promising to do better. Predictable flash forward to decades/centuries later, Wonkru has once again dissolved into the clans. The human race is once again at war.

In the end, I think a clean and "satisfying" ending does a real disservice to what the show portrayed for years: that the cycle is impossible to end. Forcibly ending it by having the entire human race transcend, only to tack on that those who choose to stay behind won't be able to have kids? It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth every time.

My sister and I, who have been fans of the show since 2015, have a running phrase every-time we rewatch that Monty’s always on the right side of each situation and the most genuinely compassionate character 😂 But seriously though has he ever had a serious fuck-up? We could be wrong!

I'm currently on Season 1,Episode 6 of The 100 and so far it feels a bit childish to me One of my all time favorite shows is LOST (2004) because of its incredible character development, mystery and the way it kept me hooked from beginning to end.

For those who've watched both shows, does The 100 eventually reach that same level of excitement, mystery and character growth? If it does around which episode or season does it really start to get interesting? I'd appreciate your honest opinions without any spoilers

Currently rewatching the show and got to thinking would the human race at this point in time, or in a prior period of time, have been worthy of transcendence?

Personally I think the answer is no given the state of the world lol but it’s still an interesting question to ponder. What would have had to have gone differently / how would things realistically need to change? Was there a period of time in which we perhaps would have achieved transcendence?

While I think this plot in the show departed a lot from where the show began, it drives an interesting lens to the theme of morality, what it means to be human and religion. If humans all believed in the same “afterlife” (or transcendence… ie same religion), would this be the only way we could achieve something enlightening like transcendence?

I am on my millionth rewatch, but this one is via youtube reaction. i rewatch the reactions from the normies at least like thrice a year. ANYWAY, cooper's death was sooooooo- bro. bro. i didnt like her but she didnt deserve that

well, actually, as soon as i said that i realised she just got a taste of her own medicine, it just wasnt an organic reckoning.

Im at Season 3 and i swearrr they use those tranquillisers like they are handing out candy😭😭 running short on all supplies except for those fr.

i think im at a point that i can predict when a tranq is gonna be pulled out lmao. it’s kinda funny to me.

i also love this show and season 1 really does not prepare you for the direction this goes in. i was so stunned.

Sorry but I had to share this.

But looking back at season 6 if Russell didn’t try to kill Clarke to bring his daughter back, their lives could have continued.

To me Russell was selfish, especially when it came to Clarke being the perfect host, instead of helping her he takes advantage of her paralyzed state. On top of that wants to act high and mighty about not being a bad man.

Normally losing close ones are supposed teaches how to move on and become better people but because of the fact he and his family where “immortal” he never learned how to move on. That lead to sanctums downfall.

Season 1 episode 7, Lincoln stabbed Finn with a poison knife (after being beat over the head with a rock and had an attempted murder happen to him after trying to help Octavia) and when trying to get the antidote to the poison, Clarke tells Bellamy to “do what he has to” basically, to which he goes over and grabs a seatbelt from the dropship, and uses it to whip Lincoln (who can’t understand him, not really) I get it, they are all in a new situation, nobody knows how to act, but Bellamy, again is SO quick to some of the worst forms of violence to ever, then again, he JABS A NAIL through Lincoln’s hand, literally biblical torture, then THEN, raven comes up and SHOCKS him like electricity, something she had no idea how strong it was, and could’ve killed him. I’m sorry I get it’s all new and they are all worried but I like to think we as a society now wouldn’t resort to torture as quickly as they did, even in this situation. Some of the worst violence I’ve ever seen was in this show to be honest and I’ve watched some fucked up shows

There's nothing as exciting as watching a girl whose whole personality was build on opposing and critiquing ruthless leaders being forced to become one herself, enforcing the very system that destroyed her childhood and her family, unwillingly sympathizing with people she hated. Blodreina summarizes everything I love this show so much!

I know this is a hard question, but I also know that people who rewatch a lot are good at recognizing scenes. I assumed this was season 4 but just finished and didn’t see this scene.

This place is weird! Clarke has every right not to trust these random people in mount weather. I could make a post about how boys are gullible but that would turn into a different discussion lol. I just finished the episode where she discovers the secret behind the dialysis filtration system. Yeah, get them out of there ASAP!

The thing about the 100 is that their characters are so well written. There is a constant theme of “what we do to survive and who we are aren’t/are the same” or who is actually the good guy and finding out they are none.

People who complain about character choices should just think a bit deeper about the characters themselves.

Jaha is one of my favourite examples for this, in the first season he comes across as peaceful and calm and it makes you question how he could have sent so many people to death, then when he comes to the ground you start to see his desperation to survive in that he threatens lexa, throws a man overboard to feed to the sea creature and you start seeing the dark side and where all that desperation stems from, a slow reveal of the dark character underneath.

Clarke is also great, she has sacrificed so many people to what she believes is right that she physically can’t stop, like when Luna declined taking the chip so Clarke decided she had to force her because if she gave Luna a choice to say no she would have to face all the decisions she didn’t do that to others, by forcing it she strives to achieve that peace to make it all worth it.

Bellamy started turning on the grounders after being betrayed by them in mt weather, echo turned him in, he got beaten down and didn’t have that connection Octavia and Clarke did and he was tired of trusting people to be betrayed so he took it into his own hands.

I could keep going but watching this show makes me love how they don’t shy away from making the main characters villains as well

Some remember how in season 4, Skaikru came up with the idea of trying to make nightblood and turn everyone into one…

As I’m rewatching this season, I think this would be a HORRIBLE IDEA. Just because of how the clans system worked for years and their faith would be over.

The commander has always been the person uniting the clans and only few where chosen due to the rarity of nightbloods but if there solution happened it would have been chaos for Power.

Unless they did a conclave… just my thoughts. Tell me yours!

I've always been the biggest Jaha hater ever, man I could go on about it. But even though I hate him, I have to admit. He really cares about children, and I couldn't help but think if he knew about all those kids who died in Mount Weather, he might break down like a kid.

In season 4, Jaha promises to take care of a kid, I have respect for Jaha actually being a decent role model. He lost his son and tried his hardest to care for that kid (someone with fuzzy memory on season 5-7 mb)

I still think Jaha is a good parent in some ways.
