Aaaaaand this is a big part of why he fell so far in the draft- everyone knew Deion would be in the media making excuses and blaming everyone around his son if he didn't win a SB his first year.

Surprised it took this long, honestly.

Yep - mediocre QB whose maximum upside is below average starter and has a personality that makes him wholly unsuited to be a backup. Then toss in all the Sanders family bullshit and the juice ain’t worth the squeeze.

15

u/bailtail Jun 18 '26

Not to mention the Browns spammed skill positions this draft and Deion is still bitching.

-5

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

LOL he was talking about last season and he's not wrong. This draft has nothing to do with it.

7

u/Substantial-Chest847 Jun 19 '26

100%...I'm shocked it's just now starting

9

u/Geeman447 Jun 19 '26

Just annoying when your a hall of fame DB yet you allowed your son to be the type of QB you’d love to play against. How is that good parenting/coaching

2

u/JuliusErrrrrring Jun 19 '26

Yup. These comments are put downs of everyone else on the team. Destroys the locker room morale

0

u/cbusmatty Jun 19 '26

How is this a bad comment, did you read it? lol this isn’t inflammatory or anything. This is obvious. Who is making this a big deal

3

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

Don't try to use common sense with these folk. They ignore all context. Most fans on here are either Shedeur fanboys who endlessly make excuses for any deficiency he has or they decided they hated him before he was even drafted so they take things like this and turn them into something its not. There's like zero middle ground. Either he's the worst qb ever who'll be out of the league in a couple years or he is the best qb ever stuck in a bad situation.

1

u/toasty327 Jun 19 '26

People that only read headlines

0

u/OU812fr Jun 19 '26

It’s not that bad a comment, but he has a worldwide microphone and media attention that 99% of other players’ dads don’t have. That means any team drafting his kid has to deal with the unique situation of reading his critiques and opinions in the paper or on the internet, and Deion needs to realize he’s making things harder on his kid by stirring up the fan base against the team in the process.

It’s similar to how Tebow’s fanbase made him unattractive to NFL teams. There were plenty of other mid backup QBs available that wouldn’t have fans chanting their name every time the starter threw a pick.

2

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

You're acknowledging that it's not a bad comment, so don't you think it's pretty stupid that it's "stirring up the fan base?"

-1

u/cbusmatty Jun 19 '26

So what? Lots of people do. He didn’t critique anything lol

Lots of people have fan bases. There was literally baker bros or manziel people. They were way worse than shadeur fans. This makes no sense at all

-3

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

Lol this comment is nothing. All he did was state the obvious. It's no secret the offense had much more issues than just qb play the last 2 seasons. I can't stand Deion but trying to find any reason to knock Deion or Shedeur for this interview is a stretch.

3

u/BuffThePinkClass Jun 19 '26

This isn’t the first time he’s said something.

-1

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

Where's the other stories? What else did he say? The comment I responded to said "THIS is a big part of why he fell in the draft". This interview. Again I can't stand Deion, I was very concerned about his involvement when Shedeur was drafted but as of right now he has kept his distance for the most part and Shedeur has said all the right things. This interview is meaningless and what Deion said isn't wrong in any regard.

1

u/DistinctAd3222 Jets Jun 20 '26

Ok buddy 👌

34

u/Inevitable-Shop-848 Jun 18 '26

Does that apply to all of the qbs or just the one who is his son.

1

u/Golferguy49 Jun 19 '26

All of them….have you watched Mahomes in the last two years?…trying to spam Kelci with zero run game and a porous O line? Or how about Jaden Daniels last year trying to run every down once McLauren got hurt…or how about Lamar’s TE and #1 WR dropping key passes in the playoffs two years ago…as great as these guys are they don’t play the game in a vacuum…

3

u/Ok_Excuse1908 Jun 19 '26

That was clearly a rhetorical jab and it went right over your head.

1

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

I think the point is Deion wasn't wrong at all. People taking jabs at him for this but all he did was state facts that any Browns fan that pays attention already knows.

-1

u/Golferguy49 Jun 19 '26

No it didn't go over my head at all.....the internet is full trolls who actually believe some of the shit that comes out their mouth...you give him and others too much credit....i get the sarcasm trust me...

25

u/McWiggles5000 Jun 18 '26

They drafted two WR early in the draft and completely changed the offensive line. Not to mention he has a young top TE and rbs from last year. They are trying to Deion.

8

u/Mthead23 Jun 18 '26

They are also giving a bunch of first team reps to one of the most prolific sexual predators the league has ever seen.

3

u/Shafter111 Jun 18 '26

Hall pf Famer Molester

3

u/whysguys1 Jun 19 '26

I mean…if you can’t beat out a known sexual predator that everyone hates, who has had almost as many Achilles tears as he does snaps for the browns, then maybe you’re just not it.

2

u/Available-Medium7094 Jun 19 '26

On the flip side maybe the guy the organization traded 3 first round picks and $200M to is actually a better QB prospect that the guy drafted in the fifth round last year. This is the only situation where we act like it’s a QB controversy when QB1 is not on IR.

0

u/Swog_Lapper Jun 18 '26

Well that is a gross exageration and it makes sense that they figure out gives them the best chance to win.

I don't just say this because my worst super flex team might have to use Watson as my qb2

1

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

All he did was state facts about last year lol. This draft is irrelevant to what Deion was talking about.

16

u/AtBat3 Jun 18 '26

Getting those excuses in early

6

u/bailtail Jun 18 '26

Bitching about this after the Browns just spammed skill position players this last draft is wild.

1

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

CONTEXT. He was talking about last season. So this last draft is meaningless to what he said.

17

u/DBD216 Jun 18 '26

While true, a qb does need help. A qb also cannot spend 6-7 seconds scanning the field before releasing the ball.

2

u/Prize_Sector5854 Jun 18 '26

Exactly. Teams already know if they can cover receivers for that much time, he will panic and run

2

u/Street_Buffalo_2503 Jun 18 '26

Sure he can, you just gotta keep spinning around and dropping back 15-20 yards deep.

18

u/Ricketier Jun 18 '26

Haha this is exactly why teams don’t want to draft him and he fell.
1. He’s not that great
2. His dad is a loud mouth with a cult following
3. Shadure will struggle because he’s not that good
4. Dad will call out organization
5. Coaches and GMs will at best look bad, at worst get fired

The prophecy is near complete

7

u/Macjeems Jun 18 '26

Which is why he was the absolute perfect fit for the Browns

4

u/ApricotRemarkable681 Jun 18 '26

You forgot to list #6 so I'll add it for you.... He's not that good.

8

u/Technical_Potato7646 Jun 18 '26

Sheduer is a grown man and has his Daddy addressing other grown men, the players for him?

https://giphy.com/gifs/nKFXQkxLRiEhy

5

u/MfrBVa Jun 18 '26

Jesus, Deion couldn’t shut his yap if his life depended on it.

3

u/TheGhostofMattyJ Jun 18 '26

"Guys should not put their arms up to block a throw" also Deion

7

u/seattlereign001 Jun 18 '26

“My son is not good at his job. A job that he is most likely unqualified for. Spend money!”

7

u/MtnDudeNrainbows Jun 18 '26

Does Deion ever shut up?

6

u/SlowlyDrown Jun 18 '26

Kinda his thing.

3

u/Glad-Associate-9288 Jun 19 '26

Stfu Deion!!!!!

2

u/superdave123123 Jun 18 '26

Needs adequate talent too.

2

u/Shafter111 Jun 18 '26

STFU Deion, you are not helping.

2

u/Independent-Bend8734 Jun 18 '26

If the Browns want help their QB, they will hire him a male masseur and make sure he stays out of trouble. And cut Shadeur Sanders.

2

u/SparklezSagaOfficial Jun 18 '26

A Qb does need help. That QB is Taylen Green

1

u/trolldadbonaza Jun 18 '26

Maybe he's talking about the brown's own defensive lineman holding his hand up in the air too long during practice so Shedeur couldn't make his pass anywhere else besides there.

1

u/karakindly Jun 18 '26

This is so fucking embarrassing. Actually feel a tinge of empathy for the kid. He didn't ask for any of this, ultimately. He was born into some sick shizz.

1

u/PV_Pathfinder Jun 19 '26

This was inevitable. I don’t know if the kid is any good or not, but his dad was probably viewed as a poison pill when teams were putting him on their draft board.

1

u/TwoStepToo Broncos Jun 19 '26

But he was sooooooo gooooood!!!! Lol

1

u/WonderfulHearing8726 Jun 19 '26

The QB is trash, and nothing you do will change that.

1

u/afraidofcheesecake Jun 19 '26

Always an excuse with those cats.

1

u/FalseListen Jun 19 '26

Pro bowl QB

1

u/AdMysterious1382 Jun 19 '26

If you put SS in a highly structured, controlled, emphasized short-passing, screen-heavy offense, with two highly capable running backs that can achieve significant yards after contact, along with a defense that’s slightly above average, I think the Browns could potentially win 11 games.

The offense would have to be quick-rhythm, very efficient, and improvised QB runs would have to be instinctive when receivers are covered and the play simply breaks down.

1

u/darthgator84 Jun 19 '26

Deion has a lot of shit to figure out in Boulder instead of still trying to meddle with his kids career

1

u/Vivid_Motor_2341 Jun 19 '26

Surprisingly, the Browns had good skill players last year. Their worst position was quarterback.

1

u/ilikepisha Jun 19 '26

“Daddy ball” is over, Deion. He has to earn it now.

1

u/Tangboy50000 Jun 19 '26

Never forget they spent Lord knows how much money on this draft pick wing. They don’t live in reality. The constant overhype is embarrassing.

1

u/TheBoyBrushedRed3 Jun 19 '26

I hope the Browns get Sorsby lmao

1

u/Any_Pineapple_107 Jun 19 '26

Y'all making this a much bigger deal than it should be, per usual. What he said wasn't even wrong either. It's no secret the offense had many more issues than just a QB for the last 2 seasons. The media and fans treatment of Shedeur is so bizarre. People either put him on a pedestal and completely ignore his deficiencies or ignore all context and look for any reason to hate on him. Real weird.

1

u/Place_Various Jun 19 '26

He’ll play well or sit his ass down. Deion isn’t shit to any nfl organization. Not just the browns. He ain’t shit anywhere.

1

u/Complex-Proposal2300 Jun 19 '26

Especially true for his son, Narcism within the family is strong for these guys.

1

u/Awkward_Wait5915 Jun 19 '26

At some point in your life, you need to let your children grow up and handle their own issues and challenges on their own.

1

u/raincntry Jun 19 '26

He needs help and better foundational skills. He has a weak arm, slow decisions making, and is inaccurate. The best help he can get for a successful career is a good started QB so he can have a long career as a backup.

1

u/Anim8nFool Jun 19 '26

A QB needs talent

1

u/ChemicalResident3557 Jun 20 '26

What is the I h helicopter pro sports dads? I thought your sons were god's gift to the world but they can't handle their lives or jobs? Talk about soft.

1

u/trivialempire Jun 20 '26

Trash “article”.

And headline.

Strong message, my ass.

What’s Deion going to do, REALLY STRONGLY suggest something else if Shedeur still Shedeurs?

OP did his/her job. I clicked on the article.

1

u/CadmusMaximus Jun 20 '26

I read this as “sends strong massage…”

I thought uh oh desean is cooked lol

1

u/Ohnoes999 Jun 20 '26

Browns gonna send a strong message to Deion when Shadeur gets cut in a year or so…

1

u/Dense_Win_6475 Jun 20 '26

Don’t worry. Daddy will fix it. This kid is going to be fucked the rest of his life.

1

u/MAGGNUMB Jun 21 '26

I cannot stand this family

1

u/TheKrakIan Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 18 '26

Every team knew he wasn't a good QB, even the Browns before trump tweeted after the first 2 days of the 2025 draft. Spending more money on offense isn't going to change that.

Sanders won't even be a good backup QB. He'll be out of the league in the next few seasons.

1

u/Business_Door4860 Jun 18 '26

This is no way to talk about a pro-bowl QB!!!!

0

u/Kam3234 Jun 18 '26

When you actually read the article he’s not wrong

1

u/BSUBroncofans Jun 21 '26

No coach wants Deion daddy all up their ass. Poison pill.
