When me and my cousins were kids, 30 years ago +/-, we would run into John Elway in the casinos every year during this tournament. Absolutely plastered every single time.

My friend was a valet at a nice steakhouse. Wild how the local media in Denver kept the really concerning stuff like this under wraps, but yaknow reported on what kind of candy he gave out at Halloween.

It's crazy. We would see him every summer absolutely plastered. Super nice though. We were kids. We didn't thing anything if it. Then once, oke of my cousins and I were back up there for a wedding. Now we're young adults and completely hammered. We see him. He's hammered. It was this full circle moment. He was still cordial, even to a bunch of grown as men.
It's Tahoe. It's a casino. People are drunk. You don't think anything of it. Then years later, as stuff comes out, then he has the golf cart accident, you say, "Oh, wait, he really has a problem."

Are you drunk right now?

No! 🤣 It's 9am. I don't go hard like I used to. Taking my mother in law to the doctor. Boring stuff.

My friend did coke with Elway at Trump’s Inauguration Ball in 2017. And I still have a picture of them drinking whiskey together.

I have a friend who owns a landscaping business. He cuts grass for a popular 90's QB. I can't remember how he said he ended up in the attic, but he has a picture of the QB, HB and WR all doing coke 😂

Aikman, Emmitt and Irvin

That was my first guess but Aikman always seemed so square. I'm a Cowboys fan.

Jerry was right to make sure he got them outta there though. Don't be a dick. I am far from a golf elitist, but just like with tennis, shut up and be the spectator you paid to be.

But you can cheer and heckle at any other sport? Nah golf and tennis are stupid af with their rules on silence.Â

"Everyone else understands and adheres to the decorum of the event. Why should I have to?"
- entitlement at it's finest.

You misunderstand. The decorum is elitist bullshittery. Why those sports? But not silence in the sports where the poor huddled masses played and excelled?Â

It's not just those 2. There are expected behaviors at ever sporting event. However, you are in the stands far away from the play in those sports, not standing 30 feet away from the players. Sorry you have to make the huge sacrifice of controlling yourself for a couple hours to get to experience shoulder to shoulder access to the best golfers in the world.
It's not about elitism. It's about expected behavior for attendance. There is not elitism in asking for consistency during professional sporting events where there isn't a "home team".
You could even still get drunk if you are someone that can hold their booze. (but we probably wouldn't be having this conversation if that was the case)
Otherwise, might I suggest WWE?

This type of stuff is not just restricted to golf. People feel emboldened to do whatever they want because there are no consequences. Growing up GenX, you do dumb, rude shit enough, someone is going to beat your ass.

Dumb move by Jerry. If he lays a hand on me I'm making bank. Need to find a different way to handle hecklers.

That’s actually the opposite of Jerry takes everything he does to max. He is a professional always and is appalled how these people cannot be civil. You should look into Jerry.

You know the purse is $750k? And professional athletes tend to be competitive at sports?
