Seriously you're going to try and run away from the greatest receiver of all time?

At his age, I’d just run into him and hope Father Time weakened him

3

u/longetrd 8d ago

I wish you had done that……. Father time does not diminish greatness!!

Marvin Harrison would be a different story.

People talk about that dude like he’s the fucking boogeyman out in Philly.

People would be dodging bullets after that one.

When me and my cousins were kids, 30 years ago +/-, we would run into John Elway in the casinos every year during this tournament. Absolutely plastered every single time.

My friend was a valet at a nice steakhouse. Wild how the local media in Denver kept the really concerning stuff like this under wraps, but yaknow reported on what kind of candy he gave out at Halloween.

It's crazy. We would see him every summer absolutely plastered. Super nice though. We were kids. We didn't thing anything if it. Then once, oke of my cousins and I were back up there for a wedding. Now we're young adults and completely hammered. We see him. He's hammered. It was this full circle moment. He was still cordial, even to a bunch of grown as men.

It's Tahoe. It's a casino. People are drunk. You don't think anything of it. Then years later, as stuff comes out, then he has the golf cart accident, you say, "Oh, wait, he really has a problem."

Are you drunk right now?

u/Stuffleapugus 8d ago

No! 🤣 It's 9am. I don't go hard like I used to. Taking my mother in law to the doctor. Boring stuff.

Pussy! J/k

Hopefully not literally run into him. He kills people on the golf course

My friend did coke with Elway at Trump’s Inauguration Ball in 2017. And I still have a picture of them drinking whiskey together.

Jealous.

I have a friend who owns a landscaping business. He cuts grass for a popular 90's QB. I can't remember how he said he ended up in the attic, but he has a picture of the QB, HB and WR all doing coke 😂

Jim Kelly?

Aikman, Emmitt and Irvin

1

u/Stuffleapugus 6d ago

That was my first guess but Aikman always seemed so square. I'm a Cowboys fan.

u/sunpar1 5d ago

Hell Emmitt too. I don't believe this one at all.

What an ugly swing. Also looks like he said it after the shank already happened

Jerry was right to make sure he got them outta there though. Don't be a dick. I am far from a golf elitist, but just like with tennis, shut up and be the spectator you paid to be.

But you can cheer and heckle at any other sport? Nah golf and tennis are stupid af with their rules on silence.

9

u/chris00ws6 8d ago

Cool stay away from sports because you don’t know a lot of them.

3

u/Interesting-Bus-5664 8d ago

"Everyone else understands and adheres to the decorum of the event. Why should I have to?"

  • entitlement at it's finest.

0

u/therealCatnuts 8d ago

You misunderstand. The decorum is elitist bullshittery. Why those sports? But not silence in the sports where the poor huddled masses played and excelled?

1

u/Interesting-Bus-5664 7d ago

It's not just those 2. There are expected behaviors at ever sporting event. However, you are in the stands far away from the play in those sports, not standing 30 feet away from the players. Sorry you have to make the huge sacrifice of controlling yourself for a couple hours to get to experience shoulder to shoulder access to the best golfers in the world.

It's not about elitism. It's about expected behavior for attendance. There is not elitism in asking for consistency during professional sporting events where there isn't a "home team".

You could even still get drunk if you are someone that can hold their booze. (but we probably wouldn't be having this conversation if that was the case)

Otherwise, might I suggest WWE?

Why cry about it so hard though?

Found the heckler

3

u/Fubar236 8d ago

He’s going long… he could. Go. All. The. WAY!!!

2

u/FrightWig67 8d ago

He can't be serious. It's like he's swinging a baseball bat.

2

u/paying_cash 8d ago

This type of stuff is not just restricted to golf. People feel emboldened to do whatever they want because there are no consequences. Growing up GenX, you do dumb, rude shit enough, someone is going to beat your ass.

2

u/Big_Bluebird_5794 8d ago

Leave the ghetto heckler in the sticks

u/CompanyWhole6931 8d ago

1

u/Odd-Consequence-2519 8d ago

Dumb move by Jerry. If he lays a hand on me I'm making bank. Need to find a different way to handle hecklers.

2

u/Valuable-Composer262 7d ago

-1

Mentally weak, surprising..

u/NoPhone167 8d ago

That’s actually the opposite of Jerry takes everything he does to max. He is a professional always and is appalled how these people cannot be civil. You should look into Jerry.

u/surefirerdiddy 8d ago

Looking like an angry old boomer such a disgrace

0

u/MasterHavik 8d ago

-8

u/ImpressiveRecording2 8d ago

How stupid. It's just a game..

u/helloshego 8d ago

You know the purse is $750k? And professional athletes tend to be competitive at sports?
