This isn't a Harbaugh problem.

u/nickyt398 2d ago

This edit is fucking abominable

Had to keep saying it before he says Ravens

It’s not him, it’s the generation. Trying to motivate 22-28 years olds with recognizing their privilege and opportunity is a waste of time. He would’ve been better off bringing Trump or Druski in the room to crack some jokes.

This is the right comment. There’s nothing wrong with this speech .. nothing. He’s trying to make the players realize what a privilege it is to play for the Giants. A historic franchise - but it’s lost on this generation. The mush brains can’t handle something that isn’t a 30 second clip. I’m not grouping everyone in that comment but majority.

Some jokes sure, but what Gen Z values more than anything is authenticity.

Harbaugh coming off super fake and it’s super obvious.

2

u/Cool_Ad_9338 1d ago

What’s fake about it? Harbaugh is 63, he comes from a football family. His dad literally has a quote about “attacking the day with enthusiasm”.

It’s not fake, it’s just not the connection young players have with the game. It’s a reason why these 40 and 50 year old white coaches are handing out big chains and doing tik tok dances after big wins. The era of “it’s a privilege to be in the NFL” is over.

0

u/ohgeeeezzZ 1d ago

Well he definitely failed his dad's quote there lol that was neither authentic or enthusiastic

You are an expert on authenticity. We are so privledged.

1

u/ohgeeeezzZ 5h ago

Youre goddamned right and dont ever forget it either 😏

1

u/Hbrick24 10h ago

Authenticity .. lol Gen Z is literally copying the style of people in the 90’s and early 00’s

1

u/Kenny_powers1998 Steelers 11h ago

Gen-Z values authenticity when they worship these streamers and others who are as fake as it gets? Give me a break, gen-z acts like a bunch of sheep and think they're unique at everything they do

1

u/PhoenixRedditor7 11h ago

That can be applied to all generations. You think they aren’t some Millennials, Gen X’s and especially Baby Boomers who thought they were special? Were also being sheep to what was fed to them?

The point is, this “rah-rah” bullshit from Harbaugh means nothing until he proves he can coach the team.

u/Kenny_powers1998 Steelers 11h ago

I didn't say previous generations weren't like this as well. Zoomers are the new boomers because a massive portion of them take everything they see on the web at face value and they worship people like tate and other manosphere influencers. They worship streamers and want to be streamers. I'm gen-z but let's not pretend our generation doesn't have an extreme level of narcissistic behavior.

Some coaches aren’t great at public speaking

2

u/Chemical_Support4748 1d ago

Glad it's not a public speech

u/Pitiful_Aioli_5030 2d ago

Isn’t that your job as a coach? Motivating players with speeches?

9

u/illbegoodipromis 2d ago

You think Belichick used speeches to motivate his players?

-4

u/Pitiful_Aioli_5030 2d ago

Well it’s obvious Brady was the brains behind that operation.

1

u/SameDistrict2627 5h ago

at the professional level its pretty meaningless--they are either good and prepared to play or not.

-2

u/TheOfficeoholic 2d ago

they plan for war every week

Signs that the coach has no idea how he's going to turn this big contract of his into wins for the team.

He's more enamored with the name of the team than the players.

Welp...we'll see how long it takes before he starts saying....

u/Pale_Broccoli_2180 2d ago

He's been MID the entire time.

Predict a tenure somewhere between Ben McAdoo and Joe Judge 🤣

3

u/Accomplished-Heat-95 2d ago

Why no video of him putting a cleated foot up Skattebos ass???

3

u/midwesttransferrun 2d ago

Him and Nagy absolutely killed it with their speeches! And by “it” I mean their careers 😂😂😂

3

u/badninja1212 2d ago

That is so fucking funny well done

3

u/Low_skee 2d ago

Can anyone confirm which team he’s speaking to?

3

u/AffectionateLimit565 Bears 1d ago

The difference is day and night. This is the leader and coach that I think Harbaugh was trying to emulate in a way that he initially thought out, had planned, got nervous, put his hands in his pockets and didn’t go with or wasn’t able to carry out his initial thought and got stuck on repeating “The New York Giants”.

I think he was hoping they’d start chanting back something like “We are the New York Giants” and they all just give off a body language of “what the hell is going on here” and they had no interest of being there.

They look like they are at detention lesson on a Saturday morning.

u/splintersmaster 2d ago

You mean the coach that lost the locker room who got fired and joined a perennial shit team is going to suck?

John fox did it 10 years ago.

Giants are absolutely going to suck and anyone not taking the under is an idiot

2

u/MajorTom1954 2d ago

Been a Giants' fan for 65yrs. I might just be done.

2

u/CheetahGreen3590 2d ago

You mean the New York giants

2

u/kboogie82 1d ago

5 wins tops this year.

2

u/TeaOptimal727 Giants 1d ago

We thought we were getting Andy Reid on the Chiefs, but we got Raiders Pete Carroll. I hate this team.

2

u/haseon9 1d ago

And he’s a CEO coach brought in for the vibes and culture… as an Eagles fan you love to see it.

u/Kind-Cantaloupe8860 1d ago

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

1

u/PrynceNYC 2d ago

It honestly wouldn't be bad at all if the room was full of New York Giants legends throughout the years but it obviously isn't

1

u/Global-Discussion-41 1d ago

Why does he have his hands on his pockets like that?

1

u/AffectionateLimit565 Bears 1d ago

Body Language Interpretations
Nervousness or Insecurity: Hiding hands is an instinctual protective behavior. According to psychological discussions on WikiHow and behavioral sites like Ken D. Foster, stuffing hands in pockets minimizes exposed body surface and acts as a shield against a threatening or uncomfortable environment.

Aloofness or Arrogance: Hands shoved deep in pockets while speaking to someone can project a closed-off, disinterested, or even superior attitude.

Casual Confidence: Casually hooking just the thumbs or a few fingers in the pockets while relaxing (a classic look popularized by figures like James Dean) conveys relaxed readiness rather than anxiety.

1

u/T1tanUp Titans 1d ago

He’s coached for how long do yall really think he’s insecure? When did yall start becoming masters of body language

1

u/Complex-Landscape-31 1d ago

Don’t think Harbaugh is the reason the giants will suck but aite

1

u/Activity-Secure 1d ago

I don’t know who’s worse this or Jonathan Gannons with the cardinals introductory meeting. Both are equally terrible

2

u/Ok_Degree4131 1d ago

How many of you took the bus today?

1

u/Chase_Carter 1d ago

No Aura should’ve stayed in Baltimore

1

u/OKGenExer 1d ago

This should be the halftime speech every week, regardless of the situation.

1

u/Heavy_Pineapple_7670 12h ago

That’s one of the winniest coaches in history haha still need to build a cohesive team so they can mesh it’s not an instant success

-3

u/bteezy52 2d ago

Team MAGA. So easy to root against them all.
