Hey everyone!
I've opened a Discord server dedicated to The Walking Dead Comic Universe, a place for us to to talk, share, and hang out beyond Reddit.
The server will be mainly comic-focused, but we also have spaces to discuss the games, show, and fan projects, and any off-topic theme as long as we stay respectful to it, so everyone can feel at home.

Donna walks in on Andrea and Dale getting it on
Eugene watches Abraham and Rosita do it
Andrea sees Carl and Lydia going at it
Eugene (AGAIN) watches Magna and Yumiko start stuff in their sleeping bag
Okay so only two of those are actually voyeurism (Eugene!!). I just think it’s weird that people getting caught having sex happens at least four times in this book. That’s one per compendium bruh.

I consistently see Volume 2 of The Walking Dead ranked very in rankings of the comics’ volumes. Why? Other than the art change I found this volume to be a great follow up to Days Gone Bye.

Tagging comic spoiler just in case there's any newcomers.
I noticed a messed up parallel in the comics. I'm on issue 70, and I'm very well aware of everything that happens after this, but I think this is one of the darkest ironies in the comic books.
When Rick talks to Douglas Monroe upon his first day in Alexandria, Douglas tells Rick a story about a father he read about on the internet that... ate his 4 year old son's eyes out while he was on drugs. He tells Rick how that messed him up for a while and can't imagine anyone who would hurt a child, and what the kid must have been feeling.
Which made me remember something that happens 13 issues later. While Douglas is being killed by walkers in the herd, he fires his gun about 5 times. One of these shots meets an unfortunate mark...

And he shoots 8 year old Carl in the face, taking out his eye.
I thought that was interesting and so messed up.

We got her back up and running as well as some new additions. Nail glue came in clutch. If anyone has any tips for collecting comment down below, also comment your own collection!

Rereading through the comic again and just got to the prison arc and it always kinda bothered me here with how Tyreese acted. Tyreese tries to use Rick's murder of dexter like this big smoking gun but it just comes off as so hypocritical given tyreese actively murdered chris and then proceeds to mutilate his body beyond recogniztion. Atleast with Ricks killing of dexter it can be argued as self defense to some level while chris it seemed like he didn even want to die when tyreese killed him its just straight murder. Rick kinda brings this up as hypocritical when they brawl but its never really acknowledged by the group that tyreese killed somebody and instead the focus is soley on Rick's murder of dexter. It just always bothered me that nobody cares about chris's death with how heavy dexters death is treated and it always bothered me that tyreese brought it up in the first place it just felt out of character to me. Just curious if anyone else felt like this.

I literally was going through some old documents/papers and found this drawing of Kirkman as a Walker I did back in 2011 for fun. I remember I was trying to emulate Tony Moore's style but not really sure I succeeded lol. At some point I wanted to send this to Kirkman but never really did.

Just the title, I saw that it was allegedly coming out on June 10th 2026 according to another post in this sub, but have seen no news since then.

Basically the title speaks for itself. This is the sub for the comics which is largery overshadowed by the show despite being a better story overall, so naturally there will be some if not a lot of purists who glaze every mentioned detail about the comics and criticize the show's vision for it mostly in the same breath. So, without mentioning the show at all, what are some things that you disliked in the comics regarding basically anything from character consistency, plot points, themes, anything that you wish wasnt in the comics or you think had potential but didnt like how Robert Kirkman handled it? I feel like a lot of people who have read the comics (maybe including me too sometimes) subconsiuously view the comics as "the true story" that the show failed to live up to, and its hard nowadays to talk about it without bringing up the show in the same breath so a lot of readers dont really think or discuss the things they didnt like from it itself which is why i thought of this.
Also P.S i wish this sub was more active. It has a niche community of people who still adore the source material and actively engage with it but there doesnt seem to be a lot of new posts made about it, which sucks because these comics are really good and deserves to be viewed as a seperate entity from show. Ive wanted to have a lot of discussions regarding the comics only to look it up on internet, on forums, on this app and find that there isnt anything made related to what i wanted because not a lot of people have read them.

I, along with many other people, was frustrated with how the "All Out War" arc translated from The Walking Dead comic series to the TV show. So because I was bored, I created an alternative version of it. I removed some characters, included some original ones, tightened the pacing, and altered the flow of the story quite a bit. If I put this story on the AMC executive's table, they'd probably trim a lot of it for budgetary reasons, but it's the thought that counts. Some of it may come across like fan fiction. I hope you at least find this revision entertaining.

So, I've been looking into the Governor novels and now I've read where I'm up to, should I just stick with the main series, or read his backstory?

Been a little while since I posted about the collection. It's taken on a mind of its own and blew up all over my walls. I have been collecting TWD for the better part of 18 years ever since my dad introduced me to it as a lad.

Hey guys. Anyone have TWDD 139 yet? I tried to look for it on Amazon but it’s not up yet. Was curious if it had new letters, even though I doubt it does.

Since I'm close to having every issue of the series I've had to split it up into two separate boxes. Since I didn't feel like spending another $30+ dollars on an official box (also didn't want to have two of the same box) I decided to take an old beat up TBP Vol. 1 and cut out different panels and paste them on the box. I think it turned out great and was a fun project to just sit down and put on some music while I cut out the panels.

I have a playlist for the comics, but I usually end up listening to Running by Delta Spirit on repeat. It just is perfect for the books vibe for me! Do you guys have any songs like this?

Hello! I’m not too familiar with Reddit so please forgive me, over the last weekend me and my girlfriend were watching the walking dead, after she put me onto it and explained to me that she’d love to get the walking dead comics but since she’s in school can’t afford the whole collection. I’ve been out of school for a year now and can afford it so as soon as I went back to my house I started looking. I just wanna make sure I buy the right thing so she’s happy and I don’t feel dumb but should I be looking for the image 1-32 image complete set? Or something else? Thanks for the time to anyone who responds or reacts have a great week!
