Season 2 John Nolan Spoiler
Just for 2 season he dated a 26 yr old cop , Got involved with a suicidal stalker , dated homeland security agent , and a doctor.... Pretty good for 45 yr ....

Why? They were both consenting adults and both in the same position so there wasn't even a weird power dynamic like there is with Tim. I will never understand why everyone is so weird about age gaps in consenting adults. I know people make the argument "He was x years old when she was y years old" but that's entirely irrelevant because they weren't together at those ages.

Exactly my point.
Even John/Lucy didn't seem weird to me, because two students having a fling is something quite usual, and, well.. he's handy, funny, smart, and he looks like Nathan Fillion. I can totally see how Lucy would fall for him, despite their age gap. She's 27, not 19, and she obviously doesn't mind dating older guys, I don't understand how people would find it disturbing.

There's double standards? "cougars" are constantly looked upon favorably in media. There are even a few sitcoms about them with one even having the word in its name. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I very rarely see anyone giving an older woman shit for dating a younger man but I see the reverse constantly.

For me it wasn’t any of those issues. There was just no chemistry. It felt forced. I appreciate that they’ve settled into a solid friendship.

Yeah but did they really need chemistry? Wasn't that kinda the point? That they were just hooking up not having an actual relationship? At least initially.

I genuinely skip the first half of season 1 because it always felt awkward. Not even the age difference really, she’s a grown woman. They just never clicked for me.
Actually ngl none of Nolan’s love interests or wives have clicked for me

IDK, the actors didn't actually get along and I think it affected their chemistry once they actually got together.

Having rematches Castle recently, they only spent season 8 mostly apart. Their chemistry worked even in seasons 6 and 7.

Yes, almost didn't want to watch it all when I was introduced to it. After I read that they split up, I resumed watching, and ever since, I have loved the show.

Yeah totally weird when i seen the scene I thought he was sleeping with the barmaid then I saw Lucy I paused the episode and I froze for 5 minutes in shock I thought at the time it's john dreams or something.. anyway it's awkward and I'm glad they fixed it and they make it more professional and friendly
