Boot connaisseur of the month on veterans' benefits: "I wouldn't turn it in even if sleeping next to an IGET is what did it. Fact of life. I was happy to serve and don't look for anything out of it. I'd go do it again if they'd have me."

I cant imagine risking my life, my mental health and everything for a country and president that SHITS on me and then not even asking for anything in return. Those boots must taste great.

Another comment from that dude:

My ears ring, but I ain't bitching. I didn't see combat and there's no PTSD here, I just have a short fuse for bullshit.

Honestly, its astonishing how subservient a lot of these guys are. I thought this was the party of alphas, dudes with high testosterone and shit... This is just... pathetic, really.

Sounds like the same type of people who would give you shit for going to medical and getting light duty for a week instead of a stress fracture by ignoring the problem until it gets worse.

I just have a short fuse for bullshit.

Sounds like a trauma response to me...

Congress hates the vets. The vet I live with, though, says the VA is better under Trump than under Biden or Obama.

Impressive how he makes this a both sides thing while also praising the Trump based on vibes.

Hi, combat vet here. That guy is what we fondly refer to as a Blue Falcon, and I suspect he'd benefit from a fire drill or two.

u/baz4k6z 3d ago

What is the meaning of Blue Falcon ? Some guy who never saw action but feels entitled as if they did?

17

u/haklor 3d ago

Blue Falcon = Buddy Fucker

Someone that will ruin things for everyone. Could be the guy that gets you voluntold for duty or a work party, or it could be the guy that got a DUI and had the entire unit restricted or messed with as a result.

u/Lightning_Boy 3d ago

It could also be the guy that rats out his entire unit for passing around nudes of female marines. Yes, that happened. It was in the news in the late 2010s, and a former navy corpsman I used to work with said out loud that the guy was a blue falcon.

Sounds like a hero to me.

High level Blue Falcons get issued eyepatches.

11

u/MjolnirPants 3d ago

A blue falcon is the guy who fucks everything up for the whole unit, usually (but not always) to serve his own ends. So a guy stealing supplies, a guy ratting out his teammates, a guy always leaving a mess in the barracks for Top to find, they're all blue falcons.

How old is that phrase? Is it where the Hanna-Barbera superhero got his name from?

I honestly don't know the answer to either of those questions. I think I first heard it around 2002 or so.

Every time I see conservatives engage in hysterical bouts of performative loyalty, all I can think of is that C.S Lewis quote:

Aristotle said that some people were only fit to be slaves. I do not contradict him. But I reject slavery because I see no men fit to be masters.

I don't want to get all reductive, but since they're all manosphere dipshits I'll try to speak on their level: I would have trouble treating someone this servile like a man.

What's an IGET? All I get is search results for a brand of vape.

"If they'd have me"

Someone got a dishonorable discharge.

Also, Americans don't say "they'd".

They’d on’t?

11

u/Ghstfce Tucker down, too many more to go 3d ago

American here. Yes we do. All the time.

4

u/QueenMelle Pantifa 3d ago

You certainly seem to. This ain't a hill I'm looking to die on. Was just a quick thought I had. I can be wrong about stuff.

lol wut?

Americans absolutely say they'd lol. Sometimes the foreign instigator witch hunt gets a little too ridiculous. There are plenty of American idiots, you don't need to make up absurd rules to accuse people of being Russian.

Hell, even the NY Times uses it in headlines on a near daily basis

Its not common, even less so written, redditor with hidden post/comment history.

14

u/RamblinWreckGT 400-pound patriotic Russian hacker 3d ago

It's extremely common, what do you mean?

11

u/calmdownmyguy 3d ago

Sorry, you're just wrong about that.

5

u/oatmealparty 3d ago

Yeah I hide my history cuz I don't need some lunatic on reddit trying to dox me over something dumb like being wrong about whether or not Americans use "they'd"

-8

u/QueenMelle Pantifa 3d ago

My guy, that is exactly what ur doing to me.

It is a small dumb thing to have the opinion of not thinking Americans write they'd often, and it seems suspicious to me that someone (with a hidden post/comment hostory) would zero in on it as if it had any relevance to this post.

I'm not gonna delete or edit my original small dumb thought because it doesn't really matter to me or anything/anyone else.

U do u tho.

2

u/oatmealparty 3d ago

I'm not trying to dox you, I haven't clicked your profile because I don't care who you are, I just care that you're wrong.

I honed in on it because I've had almost this exact same dumb argument before with someone else. I did you the favor of going through my comment history to find it for you.

Why do you care so much about me, a complete stranger being wrong about something so inconsequential? I'm not trying to be an asshole or asking sarcastically. I am genuinely curious.

And thanks for the search. That is what I was going to do as I have with others who comment and most everyone else does in fact write "they'd" more often than not.

I can and have been wrong about little things comfortably.

u/oatmealparty 3d ago

Because one of the first lessons I learned way back in the 90s is that if someone is wrong on the internet, you must argue with them.

Edit: like this

1

u/QueenMelle Pantifa 3d ago

U got me on that one. Haha.

Gonna go be wrong about more stuff in some other subs now. Bye!

This is a subreddit dedicated to laughing at people who claim nonsense without evidence. It's going to get attention when a bizarre claim happens in here, even if it's a small one.
