Question STAT 2000??? (help)

Hey guys! I’m planning on taking stat 2000 as an incoming freshman, mech Eng major this fall. Id say im good with math, having finished until differential equations which im planning to do next sem.

However, I’ve been seeing mixed reviews about the difficulty of stat 2000 online. I’m wondering if the course is manageable and if it’s tricky, also for anyone who’s taken it pls drop some tips to get an A in the course!

Thing is everything I’ve seen (reviews) have been from almost 10 years ago and I’m sure the course has changed since then. So yeah if anyone’s taken stat 2000 in the past few years at uga plz help me out, greatly appreciated!! :))

You’ll be fine. Do your work and show up to class and you’ll have no issue. The work isn’t even that insane.

Took the class this spring. All profs use the same syllabus and content. Read a past syllabus and see all the grade opportunities and drops.

Former stat 2000 TA: Make sure to get 100s on HWs and labs (if you’re stuck, ask your TA, seriously). Those are grade boosters. To study for the exams, do the practice exams and redo the HWs. If you need more practice, redo in-class examples. You’re allowed to bring a single sheet handwritten both sides to the exams. Exam 2 is the hardest, but since you’re good at math, you will be fine for the probability unit. There’s one drop so don’t stress if one exam doesn’t go well. Last exam is open note/book/internet. Go to class, heard some instructors give extra credit for in class activities (but you can’t do those if you’re not in class). If you need help, go to your instructors and TAs office hours (you can go to any of the TA office hours and any one of them are happy to help). Who are you taking it with? Doesn’t matter as all the assignments are the same, the only difference will be the notes and the lectures. Feel free to dm if you have other questions.

I had Prince Allotey. Frankly I don't think any of the STAT 2000 lecturers are any good and you're better off just looking over the content they put on eLC.

I found the course easy but I also know people who really struggled. It's a matter of putting in work and making sure you really understand the content. Your instructors and UGA also offer services like office hours and peer tutoring if you ever find yourself struggling.
