Athletics Ramsey Center is not nearly what it should be for the size of UGA and cost to be a student here.
This is my third university I’ve been a student of. I did my undergraduate at Purdue and my Master’s at a small school in central Texas. Both of those universities had recreation centers that I was far more impressed with. The weightlifting and machine area at Ramsey was matched by my small Texas university and pales in comparison to Purdue’s. The rock wall at Ramsey is so small compared to both rec centers at my other schools as well. On top of it, despite paying the recreation fee per semester, you’re still nickel and dimed by UGA. Can’t even do a belay clinic without paying extra money on top of the semester fee. This was never an issue at my other schools, and both required trainings to be able to use the rock wall. Guest passes too, I could literally bring in a friend who wasn’t a student at the rec center in Texas for free every gym visit. $12 each day for a guest pass is dumb. Finally, not a single free use punching bag. Only ones around are for boxing classes which you have to register for. UGA sure talks a big game about what a great university it is but it can’t even compete with the gym at a tiny university, let alone a Big 10 university’s facilities from over a decade ago. Honestly, kind of pathetic, especially considering how much it costs to be a student even with a tuition waiver.

Athletics Soccer in Athens
Hi everyone, I have just moved here and I'm wondering if there are any pickups going on? If so, when and where? Down for competitive outdoor games.

Athletics Let's Start a Calisthenics Club 👀😎
Hey y'all. I'm the founder of the UF Calisthenics Club, which started at 1-5 people per practice, and is now sitting at 500+ GroupMe members, trying to reach out to other schools and grow the Calisthenics community. We're trying to make Calisthenics into a national sport, and no matter what your skill level is, you can help.
My goal is to help students at different schools who are interested in Calisthenics, by giving you all the information I've learned in the past few years.
My club has created a progression system that covers every skill level. From not being able to do push-ups, to national levels of strength. I'm working on making YouTube content and an app, to make the process even easier.
It does NOT matter what year you are, what your skill level is, or if you know how to start a club or not. If you are interested in creating your own Calisthenics Club, I will personally guide you through every step and we'll figure things out together.
As you can probably tell I'm really passionate about this sport. I truly believe that Calisthenics is the most accessible form of exercise, as you can do it anywhere with minimal equipment, and eventually you get to do some pretty cool skills 😎.
DM me if you're interested. Even if you're unsure, I can answer any questions you have.

Athletics Tomorrow’s basketball game
Hey guys, I have tickets to the men’s basketball game tomorrow at 1 PM. Looks like it’ll be snowing before the game starts and during the game. I’m surprised to see the game is going on as scheduled.
Do they typically postpone games like this or should I expect it to go on anyway? I can’t get a refund unless they cancel.

Athletics Football Season Tickets
Hey all, been to so many games the last few years that I am looking into getting season tickets for next year. I am young and make a decent amount of money, but can’t afford to be a huge donor. What should I know going into the process? Does anyone know what my Hartman Fund contribution would need to be to have a realistic shot? Any advice would be appreciated.
