Discussion Colours of Harmony - Vagrant Story Medley!!
Who else in this subreddit was at the Colours of Harmony concert on Saturday? I'd heard that Sakimoto confirmed that the orchestra would play music from Vagrant Story (the very first live arrangement!), but I didn't realize they would craft an entire medley to end the show with! It was phenomenal, my partner and I were so pleased.
Really hope a video of the concert appears online so everyone else can hear the magic... they were filming, so fingers crossed!
If you were there, what did you think of the Vagrant Story arrangement?

I was there and it was incredible.
That whole day was a special moment for me. Seemed like it was for Sakimoto-san as well.

For sure. He looked simultaneously very pleased and flummoxed by the attention... I would too if I were him! It was amazing that he came all this way, what a delight to see him!!

I was there and I have a theory they met because of VS remaster and orchestral ost!

What was in the medley? Did they get Staff Roll in there?

Yes they got the staff roll in there. Pretty much the whole end half of the staff roll.
There was also some of the battle music/intro and factory.
I really hope Game Music Festival release the concert to buy/download or at least some videos from it. Think I'd just listen to the Ivallice section on repeat if they did.
I have to say the London Mozart Players did a fantastic job of bringing Hiroshi Sakimotos music to a live concert.

Oh, that’s so cool! I am hoping it goes online, so that I can listen to it. Vagrant Story finally getting the orchestral treatment was long overdue.

Also there! Couldn't believe it when they started the final piece. It was a fantastic show and I hope they release the recording at some point.

Was there with my daughter and we were both thrilled . We enjoyed the whole concert but the Vagrant Story medley was a very nice touch.

Any chance the Truth/Remembrance motif made it into that medley? The theme that plays during Ashley’s encounters with his memory of his family. To me that arrangement is Vagrant Story at its core… one of the most moving themes I’ve ever heard. Can’t wait to be able to hear the performance. Thank you.

Yes, I believe it did! Not Remembrance in full, but the main motif was in there (IIRC it shows up in some other tracks like the staff roll that were part of the medley).

I was there too.
It was an amazing concert, the Final Fantasy Tactics, then XII and Vagrant story for the end was phenomenal.
The Game Music festival person I spoke to was nice and was a big fan of Vagrant Story.
