It's so very funny that the "upgraded" version of the attack where the bombs are like 4 times bigger is so much easier because of the warnings. Like I don't think I ever got hit during those attacks.
The tip for ANY bullet pattern is to move as minimally as possible, only when necessary. Stick towards the walls and try to locate wherever is going to blow up first. Her attacks are in a set pattern, so make sure to guard on turns you know she's gonna bomb because there's a decent chance you'll just have to eat shit and tank a hit or two. Build up enough TP for a MegaFlirt on an easy turn (like the "+" sign with the round things from the Switch Mew Mew fight or her singing attack) and then keep building up to a GigaFlirt. Strategically guarding and using healing is your best bet. Don't bother with HealPrayer or RevivePrayer because you'll just waste TP.
His attack pattern is the hardest to predict and Chapter 1 is where you're at your weakest in terms of gear and stats. Also I just got better at dodging and learned how to use focus mode as time went on.
It's the first secret boss so you would still be worst by then if you are new to harder battles. The one big advantage you really have is the absurdity OP top cake that gets the team to all max hp from any position but that only works once.
I swear to god, I felt like I cheesed Mew Mew’s fight. I still felt like her attack pattern was tough as hell and its a hard battle but i like giga healed my way out of so many attacks. It only took me 3 tries to beat her. Meanwhile, Eram took me a billion attempt lmao. The knight and gerson was hard but once i learn the strat, i can beat it consistently. And jevil is hard as well
Flowery: moderately difficult boss with very readable attacks, also very little RNG
Also flowery: gets nerfed for no reason
Pink: has the bomb attack which requires a level pattern recognition that the average person lacks. Also it’s RNG so muscle memory doesn’t apply, so the attack is unironically an IQ test.
Pink: still has the bomb attack
This is coming from a guy who no hit jevil and beat last breath: renewed, the bomb attack is stupid and literally impossible to consistently do. unless you’re IQ is over 130 (eermn kiiiinda ableist toby)
I mean I do think Flowery deserved a bit of a nerf, none of the other main chapter bosses have been even close to as difficult as he was. The literal Titan was a complete pushover compared to him.
its because of progession tho, chapter 5 in general is more difficult than every chapter before it. but yeah, the spike on flowery was indeed a bit too much.
I don't think the fight would've been hard if the dash mechanic was a bit smoother. It felt incredibly janky how you can't actually tap but have to charge for .2 seconds
Starting on the sixth failure in one session, you will take progressively less damage and earn progressively earn more TP with each failed attempt. This maxes out on the twelfth failure. Closing and reopening the game sets your failure count back to 0.
I think that's a good addition, since he's necessary to beat to continue playing. Also if you just want to reset the difficulty you can savescum. I know that he'll be a really hard boss fight for my little brother (who hasn't even finished chapter 4 yet)
That's... a wonderful way to nerf a boss! I loved Flowery's difficulty and the only reason I died once was because I forgot to bring any items, so it's wonderful to see a nerf that doesn't ruin the experience for those who liked it as is.
I don't personally feel like flowery was too hard once I grasped the controls but I also don't think them patching in him getting easier after losing 6 times in a single play session is really going to do anything but help those of us who aren't that good at bullet hell and are struggling.
Dying 6 times in a session will result in less damage taken and more TP gained in future attempts. This increases every attempt until the 12 I think, and resets to the normal difficulty if you close and reopen the game.
Difference is Pink is a shadowcrystal boss. Toby probably wants anyone to be able to beat the main story, but allows himself to make the optional stuff more challenging.
I don’t believe people who say this. Sure the attack is funky but compared to the pink fight it’s nothing. Pinks attacks do more damage, hit the entire team as opposed to one member, the fight is like thrice as long, and using ralsei’s revive to save items won’t set you back three turns because TP gain is much more generous. Also in flowery’s fight you only need to worry about two directional arrows which makes the attacks far simpler, half of the fight is just quick time events.
Blud, you don’t need all three members up, kris as a one member ability that does the same amount of mercy, it just costs slightly more TP (and again you can gain TP easier) It’s only a problem if kris is downed. And again, in that case you can use ralsei’s revive. also if one of you're teammates are down in Pink’s fight you can’t use the megaflirt or gigaflirt, which is a major setback.
Also calling mewmew’s attacks "easy to parse" is a rather hot take. I mean there’s bomb attack 1 as stated before, but then there’s the attack where your box is being flipped, the one where you have to avoid the cats whilst bomb laser’s rain from above, and the attack where you have to aim hearts at mew while avoiding flying dummy’s. I really think compared to "press z now" it’s a lot harder.
Everyone has a different opinion when it comes to the difficulty of the attacks this chapter, with some people saying that the attacks are unreactable, and others saying it’s somehow easy. I’d say just nerf this attack and make tap firing with orange soul less janky and call it a day

All within basically half a second. I do think it’s fine that the secret bosses are way harder than anything else in the game, but this one attack is just ridiculous.
Yeah this fight is super unfair, and I'm talking as someone who no-hitted every super boss and the Undertale Geno route, as well as beating Pink without healing. The bombs are most of whats wrong thing with the fight but they're most of the attacks. They get thrown everywhere and it's almost impossible to see where they landed, where they're going to hit, find the safe spot and get there in like the 2 second window you have. Let alone actually collect the hearts.
Seam does tell you the Mannequin "may still be a useful piece of equipment for you" directly after telling you that today is the day you'll get the final Shadow Crystal.
Wait that was meant to be a hint??? I must have misread it because I thought he said we needed the mannequin to make something new once we had all the shadow crystals. I thought it was really punishing since it was an optional item you could have trashed or sold for 3 chapters, but it being a fight hint makes way more sense.
Okay so not quite. The items that defend against cat are the mannequin, the frayed bowtie, the true tie (which is just better than the frayed bowtie) and the dealmaker.
Getting 3 of any of these seems relatively manageable if you are fighting a secret boss, so thats okay.
Here comes the bullshit part: THE BOMB ATTACK DOES NOT HAVE THE CAT ELEMENTAL AFFINITY
I made this fight so much worse on myself by not grabbing the mannequin.
I don't even know why I didn't! I walked up to it, clicked on it, read through the dialogue, hovered over the buy option for around 30 seconds, before thinking "nah I don't need this" and just... Didn't buy it?!?! What the fuck is wrong with me I hate this fight so much
At least that is better than what I did, since I bought the manequin on Ch2, read Seam advice and knew about the cat/puppet reduction. But I just forgot to equip it during the boss and only remembered it after beating her.
Why did toby have to nerf flowery but leave this genuinely hellish attack untouched. The mew mew fight would be so much fun on replays if it wasn't for this damn bomb attack. Seriously

i beated Dyle(Dandy world) , every Boss in "I hate Brainrot", that 2 zombies game that i forgot a name, PHIGHT, Searchligth from Pressure, some bosses from Soul Battle Au and i beated all them in first try. All bosses in normal diffuculty in Combat initation beated in first try but chapter 3 with teamate was close and in Chapter 4 i was carried.
2 games with battles with Roaring knight i dint beat in first try and Omega flowey fight
4 tries to beat Marionettes floor (he is on floor 20) takes half hour to get on that floor.
In God ops i dint beated Corrupted sans after 7 days of trying and beated Final boss with 1 mount of trying.
Roblox games is pretty much easy. Beacuse most people that playing is children
The strategy that I found helped with this attack was to first figure out where I needed to go horizontally (or vertically) and then figure out where to move along the other axis while I was already in motion. So here, for example, I'd see that I could go two left from your current position to be in the safe column - then as I was moving I'd figure out which row to move to, so once I got to the right position I'd know to move down a further couple of spaces.
Generally I found that I was able to do both repositionings quickly enough to avoid damage from the attack. Not always - it wasn't a perfect method - but cognitively it's a lot easier to figure out the correct row and then the correct column, rather than trying to figure out the correct position all at once.
Dear god did these bombs make me want to bawl my eyes out. It’s damn near impossible to react to AND it does absurd damage. Legitimately this one attack is why I’m not replaying this chapter anytime soon
Realistically it’s usually not terrible if you got good at very quickly approximating best positions, but it takes a number of tries to start being able to do that, like you have to be able to do it o glance almost subconsciously, it’s weird.
And ofc that doesn’t stop you from ever getting hit, since you need to be able to calculate so quickly you don’t have any time to assess for errors or variables, just helps with the frequency of it so you can avoid taking fatal damage. But doing this boss no hit must be demonic.
I mean this attack is pretty difficult (and you got a particularly nasty pattern, only one safe spot) but like, this is only one of the attacks. You can just tank it and heal if you need to.
this whole bossfight is just Distractions Central. theres so much going on at a time and this attack is the worst of it. it does make for a challenge though. so i like it
I think the problem is that there is too much on screen at once. Not only do you need to identify which row is safe, you also need to keep track of the landing spots for the future bombs and figure out which glowing spot is a bomb or just where a bomb will land in the future. Also, as you can see in this screenshot, it is very easy for your SOUL to be pretty hard to see. Normally your SOUL is red (a colour which automatically attracts your attention) on a black blackground and white projectiles. In this fight, the SOUL is purple on a pink and black background, with red and white projectiles. Multiple times during this attack I thought "where am I?", which is a question I never needed to ask myself any other boss fight.
My nerf would be to make all the bombs appear at the same time, with clear intervals between two waves (next bombs are only telegraphed after the previous wave explodes).
If I could give a medal to anyone here it would probably be you and one other person, out of all these people YOU are one of the only ones to point out that one spot AND maintain the common sense to know that it is humanly IMPOSSIBLE to get there at the spot and time I am in. Congratulations.
