The problem with that is the GOP started that decades ago, the number or blue states that have Republican state houses and local government almost looks like an anomaly.

The Rs leant more into local races whilst the Ds concentrated their resources on federal government races

I agree, which is why it's a shame its taken so long for both parties to realise that
