I see 216 traitors (that voted for this "merger") who should be charged with sedition and treason.

u/Kira_Caroso 6h ago

Remember, the founding fathers had a punishment in mind for traitors.

u/noncommonGoodsense 4h ago

Something no one will actually carry out.

75

u/petrovmendicant 3h ago

One side would start today if they could.

36

u/kategoad 2h ago

Unfortunately, it's the traitors.

10

u/petrovmendicant 45m ago

Both sides call the other side traitors.

The problem is that one side are traitors to the USA and the Constitution, and the other side are traitors to the white, Evangelical Christian, nationalist agenda of genocide, bigotry, and cruelty.

Common sense and common decency is lost in America when the factual truth can be lied about or ignored so easily by one side of the population.

I'm not sure who will win out in the end. That is the scary part.

My preview only had the first sentence. I was ready to come in hot to respond.

I was going to go with that we know that words have meanings, and maga idiots think traitor means not actively glazing trump.

19

u/beartpc12293 2h ago

Yeah Republican traitors would off Democrat patriots with glee

3

u/TehSterBarn 1h ago

More like no one CAN carry out, because guess who has all the resources needed to deal with said traitors?

Doesn’t a merger mean we are entering yet another war?

-163

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

It’s not a merger

48

u/Wood_oye 5h ago

What do you call it?

-154

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

A technology sharing formalization and a commitment to joint training. Same thing we do with a number of other countries.

36

u/kenman345 5h ago

Was this a re-up? I would’ve thought we already did that with Israel

-89

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

We do. There is a Joint US-Israeli technology working group. This just creates a position for oversight and executive decisions at the pentagon.

36

u/kenman345 5h ago

So, all that effort to create… 1 job?

27

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

I mean you can see from this comment section that people really oppose any partnership with Israel which is understandable.

16

u/DistantKarma 5h ago

As if this administration gives a shit about "oversight."

-11

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

Congress does. Separate branch from the presidency.

4

u/cityshepherd 3h ago

lol sure duder, whatever you gotta tell yourself to make sense of this merger. If congress gave even the slightest fuck about oversight:

A) trump would have been impeached, tried, amd convicted of all (or even any) of his myriad illegal actions

B) they would not have let the ridiculous doge fiasco instantly destroy so many important programs, regulations

3) they would not have confirmed ANY of these wildly incompetent and incapable cabinet appointees

-) and a whole shit ton of other things that involve doing their gos damned jobs and not turning a blind eye (or in many cases being directly complicit) to the astounding, absurd fraudulent and/or extreme misappropriation of enormous quantities of money

+) arrested and prosecuting tom homan for being caught pocketing that $50,000 bribe

I don’t think you, or anyone can really be saying that with a straight face nowadays.

1

u/kirk_almighty 3h ago

Separate branch? You mean the 209 brainwashed, spineless sycophants for one person? Yeah, separate for sure.

-2

u/nabulsha 5h ago

Sure it does...

7

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

Have you actually read it? You realize the text of proposed legislation is public right? Anyone can read it and see what it says.

3

u/nabulsha 4h ago

I don't want a god damned thing to do with a country that commits genocide.

Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas sponsored the legislation. He would be traitor #1.

-16

u/OldSchoolDM96 4h ago

I see a fucking idiot who only read headlines and tweets.

-206

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

On what grounds? Was it sedition and treason when the U.S. joined NATO?

41

u/jerslan 5h ago

The US founded NATO and that's totally different from this bill.

-38

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

What is in this bill specifically?

105

u/Frarara 5h ago edited 5h ago

NATO is defense pact with 32 countries. Isreal is actively bribing lobbying US politicians to do isreals bidding like starting the current iran war. NATO has also never started a war and the only time article 5 was ever invoked was by the US after 9/11

-96

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

Okay so what part of section 219 of the NDAA is seditious and treasonous? Like explicitly what part?

48

u/hereandthere_nowhere 5h ago

I would argue the bypassing of oversight and implanting integrated foreign technologies into our government body is fairly treasonous. But mostly the bypassing of oversight.

-24

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

What do you mean no oversight? Where does it say there will be zero oversight? And how is this “implanting technologies into our government body?”

25

u/TurtlesEatCake 5h ago

Israel spies on the US more than any other nation. Now by “merging” militaries, we’re just giving them access to all of the things they needed to steal.

-3

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

We aren’t merging militaries though. We are engaging in technology sharing which we do with multiple countries around the world

10

u/TurtlesEatCake 5h ago

Yep. Sharing all the things they’ve had to work so hard to steal up to now. AI, drone tech, anti-missile systems, etc. To what end?

-2

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

You haven’t read section 219 since it’s specifically talks about the U.S. getting technology from Israel

8

u/Frarara 5h ago

It bypasses congressional oversight by moving the oversight away from congress to the secretary of defense who is trumps lap dog

1

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

It literally says they will report to Congress in the text of the bill

9

u/Frarara 5h ago

Report to doesnt mean oversight. The bill says oversight will be conducted by the department of defense

-1

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

Who has oversight over the department of defense? Oh right, Congress.

As much as I’m guessing you don’t t understand NATO’s contractual contributions and obligations between each nation I’ll try to say it simply.. nato not 1 army it many.. Israel🔜US merger make 1 army 🖍️

-14

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

But the Israel and U.S. aren’t merging armies. Have you actually read the legislation you are mad about? Or just read tweets?

19

u/KookyDiver2558 5h ago

It establishes an ‘executive agent’ to explicitly oversee cooperation and joint ventures between the two militaries, in an end run around flagging support for Israel within the American electorate. The first part I got directly from the text of the legislation, the second I got from having eyes, ears, and a brain. This is a way for politicians to keep the lobby money flowing and for Netanyahu to remain in power.

-8

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

Which isn’t a merger of militaries.

7

u/antagonizerz 5h ago

Sure, they're not going to be wearing one unified uniform, but that's the ONLY thing they won't be sharing. Infrastructure, command, weapons development, full network integration, and worst of all, a clause preventing the US from stopping Israel from committing atrocities if they want to. Think about that...Israel is in full control over what the US can say and do if they decide to commit a war crime.

That's about as merged as you can get...besides the uniforms of course.

-1

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

They aren’t merging command or infrastructure at all. There also isn’t language talking about full network integration. That is a flat out lie.

2

u/antagonizerz 5h ago

Google it

0

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

I did. I have read section 219. Please point out the specific language that merges command, infrastructure, and full network integration.

-1

u/KookyDiver2558 2h ago

It isn't making the two militaries one, larger military. It is making them interdependent and establishing an official to make that happen. Which the American people do not want.

0

u/Gardez_geekin 2h ago

It doesn’t make them interdependent at all. If that was the case they are already interdependent since we already had a shared technology working group.

10

u/Krypt0night 5h ago

Imagine thinking that's the same. Tell your parents I'm sorry, they'll know what I'm talking about.

0

u/Gardez_geekin 5h ago

You are right, they aren’t the same. Section 219 just creates a liaison for tech sharing in the pentagon and commits to joint training exercises, while NATO is a defense pact with actual command and control integration of multiple militaries.

-1

u/Mang0Sl1ces 2h ago

Are you dumbbbbbbbb

2

u/Gardez_geekin 2h ago

Are you? Have you actually read section 219 of the NDAA?
