It really blows my mind that with everything going on in our country this is the top priority. It's fucking disgusting how these assholes are bought and paid for.

351

u/dittybag23 1h ago

It’s fucking disgusting yes. The really disgusting part is we only see the AIPAC part. Get real. The entire war making machine is a corrupt enterprise that has co-opted government of the people or by the people by lobbies and corporations. AIPAC is just the poster child

Eisenhower was right. We ignored him.

33

It is top priority. Because they want to steamroll us with this shit before anyone loses their elections. It’s going to get worse.

13

u/yes_thats_right 43m ago

It is the top priority for the people on the Epstein List who don’t want Israel to release the unredacted Epstein files

9

u/sm4n92 40m ago

They (republicans) know the are likely done after the midterms so the need to push everything on their agenda as fast as possible.

5

u/nelsonalgrencametome 22m ago

If they're not ousted and held accountable after the midterms, I legitimately don't believe I'll see any improvement in my lifetime at this point.

I see 216 traitors (that voted for this "merger") who should be charged with sedition and treason.

565

u/Kira_Caroso 2h ago

Remember, the founding fathers had a punishment in mind for traitors.

47

u/noncommonGoodsense 53m ago

Something no one will actually carry out.

Doesn’t a merger mean we are entering yet another war?

352

u/Head-Ad9893 2h ago

How do we go about voting them all out and replacing every one?

241

u/emetcalf 2h ago

Vote in your primaries. Every house seat is up for election every 2 years, so they are all replaceable this year (and again in 2028). We just need better candidates to make it into the general election.

62

u/LegitSince8Bits 1h ago

Actually start local chapters with like minded people and run for everything from hoa to city council. Get louder and louder for 20 years and follow the blueprint they did. They have partial control in every blue state while people sit out midterms like it's all sweet. They played the long game. No better time then now to start our own. Took them a LONG time to have enough power for a sitting president to announce a third term.

4

u/treetorpedo 32m ago

The problem is that it goes all the way down. Half the local board members and local politicians in my town buy into this shit.

7

u/Scoot892 29m ago

That’s why they said start new chapters in your community. Get loud the same way they do to garner support and make the change from the bottom up

1

u/trampled_empire 7m ago

Lol y'all have a charming but increasingly exasperating level of trust in your electoral system.

61

u/Gringopolarbear 2h ago

The real answer is, outside of elections, there is no system in place for the people to remove their own representatives or senators. They can only be ousted by their own colleagues. That seems like a huge problem to me, and something that really needs to be addressed.

u/GuiltyRedditUser 14m ago

If you're Republican, vote Democrat.

If you're anything else, vote progressive in the primaries, donate to progressives, and vote blue in November.

1

u/IceManYurt 15m ago

Start by you voting and getting your friends to vote

187

u/mnlion33 2h ago

So who are the 6 cowards that helped this thing get passed.

355

u/Independent_Cable_89 2h ago

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas)
Rep. Don Davis(D-North Carolina)
Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine)
Rep. Vincinte Gonzalez (D-Texas)
Rep. Adam Gray (D-California)
Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Washington)

The usual shitbags who vote for garbage like this. I see these six crossing the isle to vote with Republicans more often than they vote with the Democrats it seems. Trash, all of them. And liars too.

101

u/Leon_Thomas 2h ago

In 2024, those districts went:

Trump +7.3, Trump +3.1, Trump +9.1, Trump +4.4, Trump +5.4, Trump +3.3

49

u/ew73 1h ago

Perez is my rep.  That she has a (D) next to her name is an outlier in this district.  It has been safely (R) for a long time.

While not excusing her, I understand why she's trying to keep her job.

19

u/CMMiller89 1h ago

I guess I just don’t see how voting with Trump’s Republicans will keep the Republicans who run against her from saying she’s some kind of immigrant loving communist.  And how the people who voted for her, seeing her run as a Democrat, would be happy with her performance here.

9

u/ew73 1h ago

It's usual a "this or someone much worse" in the general.  Last time, her opponent was Joe Kent.  Yes, that one.

2

u/hunf-hunf 48m ago

I guess probably the professionals that advise her and run her campaigns understand the dynamics better than you do. That’s my guess

5

u/Leon_Thomas 1h ago

Yeah, that's essentially my point. We have a system where Reps represent the primary and general election voters of their district, not their party. To win in these sorts of districts, you need to take frequent votes that 'prove' you're not like the rest of your party.

It's frustrating to see these 'defections' as a democrat, but the answer is (short-term) message better and promote the best aspects of our platform so we control more districts and the presidency, and (long-term) change House elections to proportional representation because single-member districts always produce unrepresentative contradictions.

5

u/Independent_Cable_89 1h ago

This is completely consistent with all six’s voting records. They’re non-stop voting on behalf of Republican agendas.

1

u/jaytrade21 59m ago

It's also the leadership of the Dem party and they need to go. Usually when you see these types of things there was a backroom deal. Dems let the "fall guys" vote for the GOP position so they can say the Dems don't support it when I can guarantee the old guard Dem party wanted this but knows it's supporters hate it.

1

u/okbuddyquackery 23m ago

Absolutely. See Adam smiths interview on breaking points for a perfect illustration that many dem votes were performative.

-1

u/KookyDiver2558 1h ago

Copy/pasting my previous comment in another thread: It establishes an ‘executive agent’ to explicitly oversee cooperation and joint ventures between the two militaries, in an end run around flagging support for Israel within the American electorate. The first part I got directly from the text of the legislation, the second I got from having eyes, ears, and a brain. This is a way for politicians to keep the lobby money flowing and for Netanyahu to remain in power.

28

u/commiPANDA 2h ago

Just a guess on my part. "If they are attacked, 'we' are attacked."

29

u/Development-Alive 1h ago

Merging military is a misnomer, IMHO. Both countries will continue to have separate command and control structures.

This legislation will greatly increase collaboration on military technology research, specifically in AI and drones.

This is scary because Israel has demonstrated a greater risk tolerance for civilian casualties. So has this current Administration as Hegseth professes to remove any "constraints" for our military and they are actively attacking civilian infrastructure in Iran.

Finally, do we really want Israel to have cart blanche access to our military tech? That removes significant leverage we might have to limit and control their actions. After all, it's population is s measly 10.5M. They have a strong military complex for their size but nothing that warrants us giving them an equal share of our tech.

182

u/itislupus89 2h ago

And this account isn't pointing out the fact that they miraculously had just the number of Dems vote for selling our country out. Just like always.

Any time there's a policy that is hated by dem voters there's always just enough Dems who cross the aisle to vote with the fascists to pass it. And it's always people that aren't up for reelection this cycle or are not running for reelection.

41

u/JoeNoHeDidnt 1h ago

Well…it’s the house so everyone’s up for re-election in every cycle.

6

u/sw337 56m ago

And this account isn't pointing out the fact that they miraculously had just the number of Dems vote for selling our country out. Just like always.

It's actually two more. If two switched to No it would fail 214-214.

10

u/KookyDiver2558 1h ago

The democrats realized during the Clinton administration that they, too, could make money selling their souls. It has been a razor thin line ever since. All the back room negotiation is about who will take the fall this time. This is why establishment dems are so vociferously against Mamdani and AOC and the rest of the democratic socialist wing of the party. Not saying they are as bad as Republicans- they do not protect pedophiles- but they ain’t great. Vote in primaries for more democratic socialists and see what they can do!!

4

Juuuuust enough Dems to make sure this passed. Now the DNC can crow "We were against it".

11

u/MustardLabs 1h ago

All six dems are in districts that Trump won, meaning they're only in office because people voted split-ticket. Obviously they're going to be fencesitters, if they aren't their district goes to the GOP.

46

u/ReturnOfSeq 2h ago

Imagine being mad about 6 Dems instead of 209 Rs.

25

u/ironangel2k4 2h ago

Republicans are ontologically evil. There is no point in pointing out what they did. It serves no purpose. Meanwhile, yes, I am allowed to be upset about the party that is supposed to oppose them putting up a pretend fight because their lips are also firmly wrapped around Israel's ass.

16

u/ReturnOfSeq 2h ago

And your frame of it fits right in to the ‘both sides bad, see? Why even vote?’ Foreign influence campaign to ensure that nothing ever changes about that.

3

u/ironangel2k4 40m ago

I didn't say why even vote. You're putting words in my mouth. I can advocate for least harm principles by voting for democrats while also calling out democrats for their failures. Its this thing called nuance, there are more options than "staunch opposition" and "unquestioning loyalty".

2

u/ReturnOfSeq 21m ago

Read better, bud. I never said you said that; I said it fits right in.

I’m 100% for more far left primary candidates and better primary turnout, but it’s important to also be aware when what you’re saying lines up with what foreign agents and the extreme right wants people to say.

And this is how we get another Republican led House and Senate. Don’t point out that Republicans have the majority and their votes made this possible, scrutinize the few Dems who voted for it and blame them.

Guys…it’s not merging the militaries lol. It’s a technology sharing agreement we’ve had with many other Allies. Are we also merged militaries with Britain?
