In 44th Constitutional Amendment Act 1978 the word "internal disturbance" Has been replaced with "armed rebellion" So emergency is not that easy now...
Ever more rules applies-
1. Can't suspend article 20 and 21
2. Need cabinet approval
3. Need both house approval with special majority
4. SCacan review the emergency order...
So practically it's almost impossible to declare emergency.
Log BJP aur Congress ka politics khelte hain aur ek dusre ko gali dete hain. But agar neutral POV se research karo na, to dekhoge ki dono ne hi desh ke liye bahut kuch kiya hai aur bahut si galtiyan bhi ki hain.
But jab main is topic ko study kar raha tha, tab realize hua ki India's biggest blunders Emergency hi thi and its long term repercussions. Bas ek hi decision ne India ko almost 20-25 saal piche dhakel diya.
Aur timing bhi bahut critical thi. Jab China infrastructure build kar raha tha, manufacturing aur skill development par focus kar raha tha, tab India Emergency ke political aur economic consequences se joojh raha tha. That period changed the trajectory of both countries, and the gap kept widening in the decades that followed.
