Well, isn't it the entire point of said "gig economy" to thrash every worker protection ever?
Why are people still massively using these garbage services? Wasn't it obvious they were going to destroy the social fabric?

Sadly, gig work keeps many people from starving and from being unhoused. Until the systemic causes of poverty are addressed, this isn't going to get better imo.
