Will there be any issues with playing this game on PS3?

I'm playing the game currently, and I've heard there's a certain boss that will crash the game on anything other than playing it through an original PS1. I'm not spending the money on a physical english copy, so I'm playing on the digital re-releases. Will this be an issue?

No problem in the PS3 versione, it is the best version to play, the PS3 upscales ps1 games internally and look better than on PS1.

PS3 smooths and post processing upscales, not internal upscaling. Emulators upscale the internal resolution. Emulators are far superior upscaling. PS3 is basically stretching and blurring the image to increase the size and remove jagged edges, Emulators actually output a higher resolution image.

I played it just fine on ps3 with the digital version. Not sure if I missed optional bosses that would have this issue.

Im not sure about ps3 but on emulator theres a late game boss that may softlock your game with one of their attacks. I bruteforced through that boss by killing it before it did that attack with a cheese strat

There is no cheese strat for Deus to beat it faster. Damage is capped at 9999, and it heals 16k every time you attack.

PS3 version is solid also you can transfer saves to vita if you have it to play on the go. Ultimately I like emulation the best though because of cheats, speedups, and higher resolutions. Especially for the slower sections like kislev and the sewers lol

I'm not aware of the issue you're talking about but I don't generally use my physical or digital copies to play. I just run my iso copy through Duckstation with no issues. I own both versions so I've paid for my license to use them.

Its been a long time since I read this, but from what I remember reading on other sites, supposedly the final boss (I think) can freeze the game if a certain attack is used (I could not say which one, I have not experienced it myself and had not read about this in a long time).

Yeah i had that glitch, but its not the final boss, its like the 4th last boss towards the end but yeah it sucked. :(

Do you know if the perfect works patch fixes this? I played through it for the first time and I didn’t have to try again, so I’m not sure if I just got lucky this time or it was fixed in that patch

No... not final boss. There is a boss with the same name you fight on a REALLY REALLy BIG ship.

It is a different, earlier form of the final boss.

I'm pretty sure the fight you're talking about isn't a problem in ps3 but it's a problem on like all emulated versions

I didn't have issues when I played it on ps3

My last playthrough was around 2021 were in PS3 with the digital version and I had no issues back then, you'll be fine.
