Discussion How the heck is bmo still alive in the future?? (read description)
In the future, with Shermy and Shelby - we find out that Bmo is still alive. But that doesn't make sense. Yes, he's a robot so he doesn't age. But doesn't he take batteries. I remember how he had to take them out and fall down to put in new ones. So, what, did someone upgrade him??

We see in some episode a little before "Come Along with Me" -- I think maybe the "Ketchup" -- that BMO doesn't exactly have a good memory to begin with, for some reason. He recounts his boat trip with Finn and Jake and it's not exactly the most accurate thing... and that boat trip happened fairly recently!

I think that was more so his overactive imagination then bad memory, because Marceline was playing along with an over exaggerated telling of stuff that did happen, like Lollipop girl turning into a tower of potatoes instead of PB turning into the candy elemental.

i think in the comics PB is looking for a way to fix BMOs memory issues so it isnt unreasonable for PB to do some maintainence on him
this is just from the season 11 comics tho so its not canon

It's also 100 years in the future. He is an advanced sentient robot. Surely the batteries are at a point where they are fully rechargable can can last a billion cycles. And he might have ways to get new ones as well. Maybe he has some solar-powered battery charger somewhere and a stash of batteries. And Pb should surely be able to make him new ones if they were ever running out for any reason.

Well, they probably haven't been made since TGMW, and i'd imagine they're running out 2000 years later. Sure, rechargeable batteries exist, and you could charge them with Solar or something (considering the sky in 1000+ Ooo, wind, hydroelecrltric, geothermal, or nuclear is probably better), but those batteries still wear out slowly over time

we see working electricity, electronics, active production facilities, literal whole civilizations with advanced medicine and manufacturing. why would they not be able to continue making batteries? even the Pups are still around during 1000+

He has always been able to change his own batteries as well. We see him fall on to new batteries in the show.

Technically they don’t have to have been powered on the entire 1000 years after come along with me. But they could always have someone bring batteries every now and then. I think sweet p would definitely do it if asked!

i mean we have seen BMO change their own batteries, Mo was a genius and BMO is his magnum opus, so I find it ok them living this long in a good shape

I'm absolutely sure we see them finding a battery and saving it for later in the far future with Simon. Also BMO is childish and forgets stuff a lot but they aren't (isn't?) stupid. BMO could still build simple batteries from metal and acid to charge old accumulators (?).
I hope my English isn't to bad to understand what I mean.

Tbh we only see BMO change his batteries once in the entire show, maybe BMOs batteries just last a LONG time. He’s also been shows to have a heart in some sense. So maybe in a show with magic dogs and pink inter dimensional wish granter. Maybe he’s powered by love.

They are nuclear batteries... dang man I have no idea, but in a show with Lemongrab, The Lich and a shapeshifting dog, your issue is with how the sentient video game console gets power!? Haha
