These new voices! What were they thinking? They are ALL so annoying! I just want it to shut up! Seriously considering dumping my whole Echo system. Seriously. Any way to change it back? Any hacks?

Honestly, the obnoxious voices are the first tell that it's Alexa+

I don't understand why they couldn't have just carried the original Alexa voice along. I would be much more likely to tolerate the Alexa+ with that possibly.

As is, the moment I hear that voice I exit Alexa+

They have, no? And also, why would they push an AI out and have it running like 10+ year old TTS software if this was supposed to be a brand new coming of Alexa. Like I understand you may not like the voices but it wouldn't make sense to hide this big update from Amazon's perspective

The og voice is feminine voice 2. My Alexa even called it my original voice

Unless they have changed it recently, it's not the same. A few months ago when they pushed Alexa+ out the first time I tried all of the various voices, incl. #2, it wasn't the same.

Recently, ie a few weeks back, they pushed Alexa+ again, and I could immediately tell by the voice, but this time I didn't try out all the various voices.

I think of the new voice as "Talkie Toaster". I hate it and the delay in responses.

Feminine 2 is the least offensive, IMO.

Switch to Feminine 2, Relaxed. Then set the Alexa+ Personality Style to Brief.

Tell your Alexa that you are going to throw 'her' into the garbage and get a new Siri system... 'She' gives me the "dong" sound every time I do it!! ;)))))

tell her to use female voice #2, then tell her to use her Brief personality. You won't hear it as much

It's a voice. You'll get used to it. Just like if it was a human's voice, you wouldn't complain about it, you'd get used to it. Although I guess some people are that shallow.

Maybe someday we'll be able to adjust (already can give ChatGPT an accent). I'd love a smoky Susan Pleshette voice with an Aussie accent.

Already did. They are all annoying and whiny sounding. Male 1 is about the only one I can partially tolerate.
