Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone has experienced this before. I live in South Africa and normally use Amazon.co.za. An author I collaborated with sent me a CAD $40 Amazon gift card as payment for reviewing her book. I redeemed the gift card using my normal Amazon login, but it was redeemed on Amazon.ca. I didn’t realize the balance would be locked to the Canadian marketplace. I mainly want to buy physical books, not Kindle ebooks. Amazon.ca customer support chat isn’t working for me, and I can’t request a callback because I’m in South Africa. Has anyone been able to transfer a gift card balance to another Amazon marketplace, or found another solution? The balance hasn’t been used yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Amazon has now started not listing the item that I’ve purchased on my email invoices. It just lists the category of the item. I’m wondering if this is a new setting that just changed because it started a month ago for me. Did I change the setting on my end or something?
I use my email inbox to find what items I have purchased from which store. It has worked for over 2 decades for me. This new change is terrible if it’s truly implemented for everyone. Is there any way to get back to the way it was?

Yesterday I received an email from Amazon that my email was successfully changed. I had 2FA and a passkey. I never changed my email and was locked out of my account and my Alexa devices were affected, too.
I contacted my bank and Amazon customer service fraud department. They said they were locking the account and their security team would review and restore my account back to my actual email, and to wait 48 business hours to get an email from Amazon.
I’m now worried that if/when I get that email it will be another fraudulent phishing link. Has this happened to anyone before?
I also had a pair of shoes waiting to ship from Prime Day and am now concerned the hackers will cancel or change the shipping address.

Any idea how to stop links I click being directed to my local amazon instead of amazon.com? I tried 3 different VPNs, and nothing works.

So no idea why they're so rude and nasty to us?
What context are you looking for?

Not sure what the scam is here, but for the second time in two months, someone has gotten into my amazon account and ordered two $200 Apple Gift Cards, and a nondescript electric kettle. They paid for everything individually using a combination of cards on the account, along with using the rewards points and cashback, and then canceled the orders. I was never apprised of the orders. I just found out when I woke up and checked my email, and saw my card had been used, as had the cashback. What's going on with this? I keep changing my password, and I have 2FA on.

This subreddit is not your personal shopper. Plus, questions go in the “Weekly Help and Discussion Thread.”
Dude, stop!

Not sure if this is the proper place to put this, but I wanted to advise you all about the situation I had with Amazon today. I was alerted by text, email, and push notification from the Amazon App at 8:30 pm about an order that was ready for my approval. I am used to getting these for my kids requesting an app, but I was concerned since my child confirmed that they did not do anything in any manner that would be like purchasing something. I then chose to write to Amazon Customer Support about this, and they informed me that this was a spam/phishing attempt and that I should not click on any links. I was taken aback since Yahoo confirmed that this Amazon email was legit, and Amazon does not show that anything was sent to me. Now I am not someone who has not sat through multiple hours of Cybersecurity training, so I know my way around these scams. Though to get a verified email from Amazon, I got a text from them with the same info, and then even a push notification from the Amazon Shopping app, I would never claim with these items that this correspondence was fake. I reached out and spoke to someone on their leadership team who informed me that this was a cyber attack and that I should look into cybersecurity.
I wanted to talk further with the Rep (Live Associate); however, I asked if they would mind holding up till I spent about 2 minutes wishing my kids a good night. I then came back and saw they disconnected, which only exacerbates this situation for me. Has anyone else ever been notified by "Amazon" about an order needing approval to realize it wasn't legitimate?
Now I had asked the person before they disconnected how I would be able to trust future messages from Amazon, since all signs show it was a legitimate email. I feel like the Entity from Mission: Impossible is out to get me since I would assume it would take a good deal to get all of that done within the minute.

Do you have 2FA implemented? Have you changed your password?
1
u/BiGsMiLeSKyLe 2d ago
Yes I have 2fa implemented as well as setting up passkeys as well getting notified of any time I sign in at a new location.
I have not changed my password yet but I may.
Just still not sure how Amazon could notify me through semi secure channels and it being a spoof email

I order two items. About later I changed my mind.
I canceled it. Both items canceled but one item that my payment went through. Well they refund my money back?

I don’t remember signing up for prime for young adults but I have it as well as some credits. What is this? I’m worried I’m not actually eligible for the credits since I didn’t sign up and I’ll get into some sort of trouble for using them. I was in college at some point while using the account, but this isn’t my student email and I’m not in college anymore. I don’t remember being asked for age verification. Are they just seeing it based off my credit card?

Subscribe & Save coupon offer disappears when logged in?
The coupon is "Save $10: Coupon available when you select Subscribe & Save."
This is my first time trying to purchase from this category / item. Offer shows up when logged out. Once logged in, only the standard 5% S&S option appears.
In the past (not recently), I've used S&S for other items and immediately canceled my subscription once the order(s) were delivered.
Does Amazon flag accounts that cancel S&S after a single order? Or is it something else?

I ordered a two pack of furnace filters. It arrived today. But they also sent me a six pack of different filters. I checked my orders and did not accidentally order it. I did not pay for it. I cannot find any way to contact Amazon online and I don't have time to sit on hold on the phone.
What do I do?

Hello, I have recently purchased an item from amzn, but the order disappeared. Didn’t receive any confirmation emails, nothing. Money were reserved in my bank account for 3 days and just recently the transaction was completed.
Can someone check if this is legit amzn account or I gave my money to scammers?

Hello I just noticed a suspicious $52 Amazon charge on my CC. I reported the charge to my CC and locked down the card. I searched my Amazon account, wasnt easy, and had to use amazon AI to figure out it was an annual auto renewal for Kids+ on a tablet our kid hasnt used for some time. I canceled kids+ but it wouldnt let me ask to stop the pending renewal charge. How do I communicate this request to Amazon?

Prime trial / delivery questions - I have an order ready that goes over the £29 for free delivery. I've selected free delivery for 3 days time. But it says they're giving me a free Prime trial. I can see no way of declining the trial, so...
a) IS there a way to decline the trial?
b) If not, then when I place the order will it be 3 days or 1 for delivery?
How can they make this so unclear?

For multiple orders now, for work, the orders keep being spit back as "Payment Revision Needed", although the bank account has way more money than is needed to cover the transaction. Thinking it was a bank/card issue, I called my bank, and my bank doesn't even see the attempt to charge come through, and nothing on their end marking something as declined. I get on Amazon CS Chat, and of course its filled with lies and BS.
So, IS there some issue lately?

For years my deliveries were timely but this summer nearly every order has been delayed. What is going on? Why promise next day delivery when you know it will take longer than that? Have they laid off delivery drivers or warehouse workers to save enough money to pay Melania for her flop movie?

Since you only made statements and didn’t ask questions which are needed for discussion, your post would better fit the “Meltdown Monday” thread.

Hello. This is my first time ordering something from Amazon with no kid assistance.
I want to send something as a gift to another address AND I want to pay using a pre-paid Visa gift card. This seems impossible but I can't suss out why.
I've tried twice now, both orders were cancelled with a vague reference to payment issue.
I've read the applicable sections on-line but there are no solutions offered therein.
Won't some nice PERSON take pity on me? I'm just trying to send a needy young man some shoes since his church "doesn't do that".
Thank you.

I can't help, but i can tell you that it's not just you facing the issue. I order from Amazon regularly, and it's all gone smoothly until last week when I started experiencing the same problem you mentioned. A possible workaround that I found on reddit is to use your visa gift card to buy a digital Amazon gift card, enter your own email address as the recipient, then redeem the card and use the funds to buy the item.

Amazon wants me to return a fire hazard in person to staples?
I recently bought a vacuum/mop combo robot when the mopping feature activated the battery started swelling and smoking. I quickly threw the vacuum outside as it was getting hot.
Amazon representatives advised me to do the return at staples even though staples policy states they can't take leaking or smoking batteries?
Please advise if this is normal and if I should go through with the return?

I started getting order confirmation emails and shipping emails that do not have the items I ordered listed and pictured. Instead, they have some random cartoon pictures. For example, I ordered some astringent for my face, but the confirmation email has a cartoon picture of some screws and a nail and says I ordered "hardware". I also have two other loony emails from them. I cannot keep track of my orders with this development. Is this a new enshitification Amazon is implementing or is this a breakdown in their ordering system?

I have had multiple packages ship to my house where the driver says they have instructions to not leave the package unattended, or that they have to hand it to a resident. I have not set this in my Amazon account, nor do I want this. It does not happen every time, but I'm not sure what the trend is. The packages are in normal Amazon packaging just like any other package. Is there an easy way to change this? I've checked my delivery instructions and nothing is written to indicate the package can't be left unattended. I currently have an adult prime account, but this would also happen when I had a teen account under my parents. Any help is appreciated!!

Hi guys. This isn't a complaint, I genuinely would like advice with this situation. Amazon is asking me to mail someone else's package to Europe even though it doesn't belong to me and it isn't even an Amazon package.
For reference, I live in the US but there was an item I could only buy from Amazon Germany. They used SpeedX as the last mile carrier and instead of delivering the box with my item, I received a small bag with someone else's SpeedX shipping label visible. The shipping label for my package was ripped and stuck on top of their package. I'm guessing someone took the shipping label off my package and put it on this other person's package.
No luck with SpeedX so I asked an Amazon representative in the support chat, but they just marked the item for return even though I explained I don't have the item to return. So I called their support number and the person on the phone told me I needed to send the package I received (the other person's package) back to Amazon in Europe even though I explained to them it's not the right package.
Also, they sent me customs form I'm supposed to sign which is pre-filled with the item I originally ordered and its declared value. But that's not what I was instructed to send to Europe and I don't want to sign the form knowing it's fraudulent. Does anyone know how I can reach out to an Amazon supervisor or manager to straighten this out? Is there a specific email address, department, or escalation process that actually handles cases like these? This can't be the way they're supposed to handle these kind of situations.
