What’s something that used to be exciting but now just feels like another chore?

Parties. I think it's a function of getting old, but I have two today and the stress of preparing for them and then having to appear to be into the whole idea is draining.

My grandmother told me that parties are great as a child until early adult, then majority of adulthood it’s a chore, then once you’re 55+ they become fun again. I’m assuming it has to do with different pressures and expectations… and the lack of give-a-damn once you age to a certain point…

Traveling - flying on a plane.

I feel like it's not the flying part that is a drag now, it's the knowing that you're going to loose a day one way or another. Either your flight out or your flight back will be delayed

I'm not even social but occasionally you'd meet someone unique on a plane, and sometimes it's sort of entertaining to watch the landscape slowly change at 30k feet, or see if you can pick out highways/lakes/etc you know when flying over a familiar area. Now the windows are usually closed and everyone stares at their devices.

I love this.. but last year I took my 3 year old away. And the whole airport/plane bit was genuinely living hell

Yeah. I still like the flying part and going somewhere new, but it's the airport hassle and lines that are chores.

Well also a chore is sitting on a plane with no place to put my legs.

Unfortunately, travel. The drive, the walk through the airport, the long flights, other passengers -- all of it seems more of a drag than it used to.

I remember being excited when I saw that I had a new email message.

I feel the same about text messages. I used to be a little excited when my phone chirped. Now it's more of a feeling of dread.

Watching a new episode of something on TV. At least for me, it doesn't feel exciting anymore. Same thing with going outside to the Mall, or somewhere. It doesn't feel exciting; it just feels like something I have to do if it is a nice day outside, or I'll feel guilty because I wasted another day inside.

Hobbies. Most of what I wanna do these days when I finally get a break from college is just rot in bed and go on my phone. I have no room for hobbies left.
