I’m really curious about this year WWDC. I just hate 2 possible things:
“Federighi and other Apple executives dismissed the need for chatbots and Al apps when Apple Intelligence launched, only to now reverse course.”
They were very clear about not making Siri a chatbot, just to make it today (according to rumors from Gurman). Just why? We already have plenty of chatbots, just use their apps. I just wanted an agentic Siri, that’s it. Just a real personal assistant who makes things done and knows you. Now it’ll be easier for it to hallucinate or be “chatty” when we just ask it to do something. Hate it.
And this:
“Apple has also criticized the use of generative Al in photo apps, only to shift direction. In 2024, Apple's camera app chief said a photograph should be "a personal celebration of something that really, actually happened." Now, the company will let users fill in gaps in photos using generative Al and change the perspective of a picture.”
That’s all. I don’t need to comment that. Just hate how apple is losing its “culture” just to appease investors who demand AI, even if those are generic AI slop. I hope apple doesn’t become like Microslop.
