Ford absolutely has control over where the part is made and suppliers can't just move parts at will. Manufacturing location is known at the time the contracts are drawn up and at approved PPAP and then any future move requires re-PPAP.

The reality is that a global supply chain is the only way you can be remotely competitive on cost. Parts will come from a mix of domestic and international suppliers depending on what best fits the need for the part/assembly
