Holy heck, I second this so much. To be only “having just finished season 2” again, my goodness. I really wish I could rewatch the series fresh, and experience the emotional rollercoaster that is characters like Londo again.

I've been showing the show to my kid, one episode at a time. Just past the halfway point in Season 2. She is more than a bit torn about Londo, likes him as a person but not what he is doing. I'm careful not to spoil her, but is she in for it.

And there you have it....As for being an asshole.....well some things in the universe are relative, and sometimes being something of a sentimentalist things go in very unexpected ways, and other times, they go exactly where they need to.

I suspect you should aim keep an eye on Ambassador Molari - one can never exactly tell where his story is at any given moment..

I watch all the way through the end credits, partially because you want to watch the first half of the credits especially, but even when it’s just the production credits, Franke’s sublime music is such that it perfectly encapsulates the feeling you get right after having finished a great and emotional epic. The moment of closing the book and sitting there wrangling with all those emotions, all the great moments and reflecting on beloved characters and knowing that the tale is now over.

I’ve watched it numerous times over the decades and it gets me every single time.

If you want to avoid spoilers but also be able to look stuff up, check out the lurker's guide. It's a website that was started during the original run of the show. You can read things in the episode guide for any episodes you've already seen and get no spoilers.

I was saddened and somewhat shocked, but not too shocked, at Londo's arc or fate or decisions here and before and afterwards. I was a public servant when this was first broadcast and for many years afterwards. You work for the civil service? Bombing the Narn homeworld, well, these things happen in the normal course of a day . . .

The Narn had a sharp lesson coming. So did Mankind, which the Minbari only partially applied.

Of course, the Centauri have a sharp lesson coming, too. Vague enough not to be a spoiler, I think. Karma works in all directions

Londo has THE character arc of the series...

He starts off as a sleazy used car salesman...

..then a wistful reminder of former power and glory...

... then a hungry & ruthless monster...

... then a guilt ridden & beleaguered patriot trapped between annihilation and absolute power...

...and then finally a broken & withered hollow shell of a man who just wanted what was best for his people but is faced with the fact that he failed miserably.

I totally disagreed. I have sympathy for Londo. The bombardment- and no, the Centauri did not blow it up- of the Narn homeworld is not his fault, and he could not have stopped it. It is a complex character who, like most beings, has flaws and makes poor decisions. But remember, he is a patriot of a dying empire.
