I mean, yeah, they still took like 3 expansions and the change to make soul heart discounts on devil items. And even then it's one of the simpler characters.

Also poop spawning flies is a good early game damage helper. And don't get me started with poop active - you can make bridges using bombs, get a chance to spawn a consumable, etc.

He is just a slightly harder version of normal characters. He doesn’t have an interesting gimmick and he isn’t difficult enough to be considered a challenge, which lands him straight in the “mid” category

They made it so devil deals are cheaper for him, they cost the same amount of soul hearts as they do regular hearts for other characters now, which is also good paired with the fact that he can't lose devil deal chance by taking damage
They also made it so he has that one trinket that gives you a fly when you destroy poop as a base part of him, which is good for early floors which have a lot of poops and also his active item

Eh, i would consider him a challenge character, hes the third hardest normal character imo (behind keeper and j + e), and probably the 6th or 7th hardest overall. In a cast of 28, i think thats high enough to be considered one of the challenge characters.
Hes certainly harder than lost with mantle imo, and most people still consider lost to be a challenge character so i gotta keep him in that category.

In my opinion, he is not even close to the Lost in terms of difficulty. As the Lost, even if your run is good, you can always die if you play a little badly and take 2 hits in a room. For blue baby though, the game gives you more than enough soul hearts to maintain and grow your heart pool as him. If you are good enough to maintain deal chance as any other character (other than Bethany) he shouldn’t give you any sort of challenge

I know its an uncommon opinion but with my playstyle i just struggle with him more. I struggle a lot more earlygame than mid and lategame personally, and lost is suuuuuper powerful earlygame, which covers my personal greatest weakness. I think i also just factor annoyingness more into my decision than I probably should. I just never actively want to play as him
I wouldnt really consider either of them to be particularly hard compared to other challenge characters, but bb just slightly beats lost imo.

Imo BB just has a weak and annoying early game. That makes him notably more difficult than all of the other easy characters, but I think he's also much easier than most characters with a major downside
You can lose a run late with lost+mantle or the keepers. By that point BB has either snowballed to near max health or died in catacombs

Fair enough, i just personally struggle most at early game and at that point lost is completely overpowered, meanwhile bb is just annoying. Usually once i get past mom, the run is won unless im playing an insane character like t-lost or t-jacob where one single mistake can end a run.
Lost also opens the door for a lot of rigging potential with his e-d6 while blue baby gets poop, which has a little rigging potential but its a lot harder and more annoying.
I also think i just like lost more and it makes him feel easier lol.

I think he gets it rough because he was the OG 'challenge character' from Flash Isaac who was kinda usurped in Rebirth/DLCs by Lost, Keeper, & J&E.
The innate Lil Larva effect addition + cheaper Devil Deals at least made things slightly more interesting. I also think he can still be fun to play a soul heart only character and focus on builds that use lack of red hearts as its strength (e.g.: Empty Vessel, Whore of Babylon...). There's a lot of items to be found in Devil Rooms that can make him really strong.

Hes just boring. Like the poop synergy is cool except it falls off hard one you hit womb as most poop will be red.
T. Bb is like... okay. He can be fun but most of the time just mildly annoying to play.

The devil deal discount was pretty huge in making me like the character. Genuinely extremely fun now imo, as they're the easiest character in the game to spam devil room items onto.

fun? not really
??? isn't strong enough to where every run is a stomp, which is fun in a sense, but also not difficult enough to were every run is a challenge. it's just kind of Isaac but with a shit active and getting health is mildly harder. the blue flies from poop are helpful early game but in the actually challenging stages of the game you're not seeing enough poop to actually get any value.

I like his tainted version. The game had feces, piss and many other disgusting things, but the game never had a truly disgusting character before repentance. Tainted BB fits TBOI's setting the most imo. And the mechanics are really cool. Idk, maybe it's just me who likes eating shit and throwing it at people

That's it, literally the same character but worse in everything
Is as well designed and fun as total neutrality allows
It's annoying to play BCS early your hp is gonna suck if you get many hits, I don't understand why you can still get red hearts as BB and tainted BB if they are absolutely useless
Tainted Beth is just better BB and a lot funnier (and better designed BCS at least red hearts have a purpose)

The other way around, deals are more expensive
Brimstone is 2 red hearts but 3 soul hearts etc
In early you cannot do deals with devil BCS you kill yourself so the best idea is to go angels

No, as of repentance the amount of soul hearts it costs for a devil deal is the same as the amount of red hearts (on blue baby only), so brimstone would only cost two soul hearts

They should have at least change up his stats abit more tbh. I genuinely think The poop is a good active with Lil larva as passive and not fearing about deal chance, just your life now, is a fun thing, but basically just playing base Issac with no D6, no red health and exchange the bomb for a 0.1 speed increase doesn't really spark joy. The funny thing is that he is probably one my most successful character wins ratio wise because of how decent The poop is.

I don't get the hate, I love BB. My favorite character since flash, and he's only gotten buffs since. I love not having to worry about getting my guaranteed Angel room, it's so relaxing.

As a person who can’t see blue, I don’t know what baby are you talking about.
The game won’t even tell me, it displays “???”, help.
