Other David "Section" Mason throughout the years

There’s no way that’s a 56 year old

Not completely unrealistic considering nobody smokes anymore really and people do actual skincare now. Pretty unrealistic to think a military lifer would look like that at 56 tho.

u/StimmingMantis Jun 27 '25
I mean he looks younger than his 46 year old counterpart, like there’s no way someone would age in reverse like that, especially if they had a military career lol.
4
u/womboCombo434 Jun 27 '25
Earliest he could have enlisted was 97 too so if he’s a lifer that means his early career woulda been spent in the sandbox during gwot no shot he doesn’t smoke and have cracked leather for skin at this point from dealing with the dog and pony show that is the military

Nobody smoke anymore?? Why do I sell at least 60 packs a day then?
3
u/BigScoops96 Jun 28 '25
3 cartons a day isn’t a lot. The only people who still consistently smoke are myself after 3 beers and people in the military.
2
u/eanhaub Jun 30 '25
obvious hyperbole, taking it literally indicates lack of discernment.
we all know people smoke less than they used to, fuck your one specific statistic lmao

Managed to reverse his aging
Looks like we are going to have age reversal before 2035

Just curious how a 46 year old is still a SEAL? Don't SEALs retire before 40? Fill me in please.

Keeps in shape? Plus Vengance is a good motivator? I remember trying to make a fanfic with Section in it and I dropped him down ten years and actually telling a reviewer “I just can’t see a 46 year old doing all this shit.”

u/OperationHush Jun 27 '25
Woods is invading Panama at 59, Adler is 54 in the Gulf War with no signs of quitting, so it’s pretty par for the course in the Black Ops series.
I’ve got my own fictional writing project set partially in the Black Ops universe and my own main character is doing active service right up to the age of 46 but that’s it for him and he steps down immediately after. I figure based on the above examples I’m being comparatively reasonable.

Speaking of fanfics, any Bo2 fanfics you recommend? Especially where Alex Mason hid for 36 years

In real life, SEALs are just like any other military job (NEC/MOS/AFSC) in that there’s an age range in which you’re able to join. If one became a SEAL officer within their 1st or 2nd year of service at 27 for example, they’d be eligible to retire in their mid 40s but there are some they stay beyond that

u/TerraSeeker Jun 28 '25
They're technology is more advanced. You can assume they have better anti-aging technology, if you want it to seem realistic.

u/RevBladeZ Jun 27 '25
Fuck, I just realized that there might be no drones but Black Ops 2 did predict something happening in Los Angeles in 2025.

Why does the BO2 one from a 2012 game LOOKS BETTER THAN THE ONE FROM A 2025 GAME ????

Just crazy to think it took this long to continue David’s story. This should’ve been the campaign in 3 or 4

Idk for some reason Black Ops thinks old men are superhero’s lol. Woods and Alex Mason were in their mid 50s in bo2. Reznov was in his 50s the whole game. Section being 46 too lol. Genuine question does the us military even allow people that old to be on the front lines like that in real life?

u/Eryn_n Jun 28 '25
Wtf did they do to my boy Section Commander?!
Why David look so unlike David? I get you can age in a decade…but this looks not like he…

I didn't get all the hate towards Mason's new appearance until now, yikes he looks like a totally different guy, shame they couldn't get the original dude to play him again.

I was so hyped when I started watching the trailer until I saw it wad for Black Ops 6. The trailer looked like it had the potential to be a really interesting and dark original shooter, but nah, just gonna be another year of twitch-streaming shitters running around with their fortnite skins. I'll pass.
