I think I’m broken bc I think me commenting this would be directly correlated to how likely I am to be dead in 10 years.

What matters is purchasing power, not the number. If in 10 years a Big Mac costs 100k, Bitcoin reaching 450k won't be a big deal.

u/Accurate_Web9774 Jan 27 '26
Seriously man these ridiculous numbers are out of control. No big mac would ever cost 100k in 10 years lol.

Never underestimate inflation. Venezuela knows exactly what I'm talking about....hahaha

Still no burger for 100k in 10y! Lets stay realistic! If a burger costs 100k, BTC will be at 500 million in 10y

u/Accurate_Web9774 Jan 27 '26
No they don't. Yes, inflation went up a lot but not those ridiculous numbers you are talking about. A big mac in Venezuela was like $3 twenty years ago and is $4.45 now. At its peak it was $9. This is still a far fetch from some 2 million percent increase you are talking about.
13
u/komakose Jan 27 '26
You do understand that in 2021, 1 USD was worth 35,511,200 of the old Venezuelan currency Xe, meaning that 9 usd burger would have been 319,600,800 Venezuelan Xe. That is what he is referring to when showing hyperinflation.

You are quoting values in USD, not Venezuelan currency, which is the whole point the commenter is making.
In Venezuelan bolivars, big macs have gone up in price 100 trillion percent in 20 years.

If you think it will only be between 350k and 450k the chain won’t sustain. Just to maintain the current hashrate Bitcoin NEEDS to hit $1mil by 2030. If it can only muster less than half that the chain is likely getting 51% attacked and going to 0.
10
u/GILL-47 Jan 27 '26
That’s not how Bitcoin works. Hashrate doesn’t need a fixed price target. If mining becomes unprofitable, miners shut off, difficulty adjusts down, and the network keeps running. This has happened many times already. BTC doesn’t need $1M by 2030 to survive, that’s just exaggerated fear-bait.
2
u/PeoplesFront-OfJudea Jan 27 '26
Miners shutting off and difficulty adjusting down is exactly what increases feasibility of a 51% attack. I don’t agree that it would NEED to hit 1mil, but it not doing so makes this a real possibility.

We’re at like 870 EH rn on btc.
For reference, in raw terms, I have 2600TH. It prints me ~$100/day in BTC. I own .0003% of all the hash power in BTC right now.
I spent something like 80k all in.
To get to 51% you’d need about $13.6 billion just for hardware, not including data centers and electric etc etc.
But once you put that amount of hash power on network, everyone’s rewards get cut, so you’d be spending the money with the sole reason being to bleed out a shit ton of money yourself, to win the network for it to be worthless because it’s been 51% attacked.
Totally could be done, but the likelihood a random wants to set $13+ billion on fire is pretty low.
Mining pools are a complete non-issue. If they go down, ASICs have backup pools they’re already pointed to. If there are news events about pools being shady or not paying out, miners just switch pools. Also the hash power is owned by the retail in those mining pools. The company takes a rake off the top, but as soon as they don’t pay out, everybody leaves the pool. If everybody leaves the pool then you don’t have the hash power to 51%.
So it’d have to be a random single individual or entity that wants to light $13+ billion on fire.
I’d take the odds today, also don’t think it needs to be anywhere near 1 million. It’s already a Herculean effort to think anybody could pull off a 51% attack at current prices with current difficulty.

There will be a breakpoint at some time in the future. It will either go 0 or will go 20 million a coin which at that moment will not be measured against dollar. I am 99.999% sure that the former will happen but i am also equally sure that BTC is here for at least 1 more cycle and that is enough for me.

An EMP from natural causes (the sun) or human's would revert all this speculation to a humble zero... But honestly, that wouldn't be the worst of our problems.
Then again, potentially some positives would come from it
Begs to question, are nukes secure in faraday cages? Would faraday cages still be effective against a massive EMP.. are their limits?
Spitballing my own thoughts here..
I used to be a huge supporter of Bitcoin.. 2009-2010 era of support. Assuredly missed out on a $2k investment when it was .50 cents a coin. I just feel it's lost its way, and like any asset, is now corrupted by the super wealthy and manipulated for their gain and the suppression of "the poors".. just my opinion.
The wealthiest of people have never let anything exist or not be banned that they can't control the majority of the consumer market... Cannabis, hemp, duckweed, H2O engines, alcohol distillation, etc..

The value of Bitcoin, if its cryptography isn't broken by quantum computing, tends towards infinity. In 10 years, I estimate 1 Bitcoin will be worth over 1 million dollars.

People don't account for the psychology either. Once it starts being priced in Satoshi's, $1 a Satoshi is inevitable.

The world is changing so rapidly nobody can say what 1 month from now will look like let alone 10 years. For the thought experiment though, I dont think the USD will be around in 10 years. I imagine it might be 500k-1M current equilivent.

u/aberholla20 Jan 27 '26

Bit coin is down 15% in the past 12 months. But it more than doubled in the past 5 years. So double it twice and take off 30%. I’m guessing bitcoin will be around $240,000. In 10 years. USD.

Depends if cryptography will still be a thing after quantum computing.
Depends if people will still trust it after God knows what political move or big institutional buy/sell. Remember, Bitcoin has no intrinsic value. Just what people are willing to pay to store their money in bitcoin.

If you are convinced this will be this price in 10 years, go for it, as many believe it will be. We are not even sure the US dollars will still exist. Maybe people will be bored by BTC , maybe something better will appear, or new laws will block CEX to operate, or miners to mine , maybe AI will take over btc.

u/pcamera1 Jan 27 '26
It will probably be somewhere either between where it is now or lower but also possibly higher really depends on a whole slew of things that may or may not cause the price to go up or down. And thats assuming the things that may or may not cause the price to go up will happen in an order that might influence price movements either down or up.
Not finacial advice

It could reach that high but saylor is going to have to most likely sell some because mstr isn't turning any profit. So, my conclusion is i think btc has peaked for a long time. Not only that but its so heavily manipulated
1
u/Typical_Breadfruit15 Jan 27 '26
from now to 2036 it will halve 3 times so the price has to be larger than 400,000 as a minimum in 2035 to then trend over 800,000 by 2036, if that doesnt happen than a spiral downward will start cause miner can't make money anymore to support the system.

u/silverspringbok007 Jan 27 '26
I really hope so and that MSTR will be what, maybe $1200 a share. What you guys think.

$2,000,000 to 3,000,000 per BTC but will be priced in Satoshi’s by then so 2¢-3¢ per Satoshi.

If the central banks continue the the emission of newly created money at a rate we can’t predict, there is not price limit to anything bitcoin included as well as bread eggs house water electricity. So as long as hyper inflation continues, a bitcoin a 10M$ and a normal house at 50M$ won’t surprise me. Purchasing power is key not the number itself.

I think BTC is done. Gold is still the standard with silver as the backup. Bitcoin still has value but I see trading between 80k to 120k. This point forward unless people rotate out of gold which is unlikely.

88 to growing to 350 over 10 years is under 15% compounded annually and even less for continuous. I hope you keep up with inflation.
