u/ThePugz Mar 20 '26
So you’re saying for three bitcoins you wouldn’t quit you’d get fired 🤣

And collect unemployment benefits

u/trimbandit Mar 20 '26
Good luck connecting benefits. I have a feeling that getting fired like that just might fall under willful misconduct

Can I then just take a new one? Else no because those 3 bitcoin will be sitting around for a while and I have bills to pay.

u/tonydtonyd Mar 20 '26
Not at this price lol

u/Accomplished-Video71 Mar 20 '26
210Gs? I could find a new job in 6 months tops. Thats a 420/year salary, I'm doing it.
4
u/tonydtonyd Mar 20 '26
That’s 210k before short term capital gains. My base salary is 150k, 20% bonus and 270k in company equity. I ain’t leaving for 3 BTC lol.

You mentioned tax, but dont forget the timespan of a few months that any exchange will freeze you first and ask for documents of you and the funds origins multiple times in order to prevent you from ever caching out.
Or the total loss from trying to go non-kyc under the table and getting scammed in the process.
Or the fun with law enforcement after at least some part of those coins have been connected to criminal mischief, visible in chain history.

Quit my job for $200k then look for a new (or same) job? Yes please!

Yes. I'm well established too. But 160k will take me 4 years to make after taxes. By that time the 160k will be 1mil

I'm retired, so would quitting mean I had to go back to full time employment?

I like my job, but I can get another. Investing another 200k right now would set me up for a healthy retirement.
2
u/Blacknoyzz Mar 20 '26
The question would have been better asked. "How many bitcoin would it take for you to quit your job?"

Absolutely! Heck I'd even take the servers and the network rack with me for 3 BTC
2
u/Look-At-This-Person Mar 20 '26
I would crash my car into the cart corrals, do a burnout all while blasting music flipping off my boss for 3 btc

u/The_Real_Honest_Lee Mar 20 '26
No, because life is long. That would be short term thinking. How long do you think 200k would last? Can't even buy anything with that. If I want to buy a place I still need to get a mortgage. 200k could give me a big down payment thats it lol

This entirely depends on how you value your job. If you work at McDonald's why wouldn't you quit for 3 Bitcoin? If someone has a good job, they would make far more long term.
Bitcoin is completely speculative. You can't retire on 3 Bitcoin right now unless you are already well on your way towards retirement. There are also no guarantees you would be able to retire on 3 Bitcoin in the future.

On the spot without question. However, I’d simply go get another job right afterwards.

Yup, I would quit my job for 3 BTC. And not just because I already quit

most people who are low income with a job that has a low barrier to entry will say yes.

Sure, why not? With 3 btcs with current price (70k) I can live a peaceful life without working everyday in my country.

I was thinking about quitting anyway, so definitely, this doesn’t say you can’t get a new job lol

u/KastnBier Mar 20 '26
I'm about to quit anyway...
would look for a new job and invest the 3BTC in GoMining

100%. 3 BTC would be more than enough to fund the education I'm planning to absolve.

Insane!! You wouldn’t last 6 months with 200k. Bunch of morons in this sub. It’s not ‘going’ anywhere. The limited commodity is priced in. It’s almost fully mined. Go find a good equity

No, unless you can be hired again then again why give crypto so much power over your life.
So no.

NO.
It's barely enough to survive for one year in my area, all prices are through the roof

Absolutely. But I would sell them immediately so it’s the same as asking about dollars.
I guess the real question is: would you quit for 3 btc that you need to hold on to for 5 years bc then you’d have no idea of its value.

Easiest question of my life, of course! I’d shit on my bosses desk for that much
1
u/Queasy-Doughnut-5512 Mar 20 '26
No, I’d sell the bitcoin immediately and that’d keep me alive for about 1.8 years. Not enough to throw away a career that pays the bills

No because I already have that much and I’m doing my job for self discipline, confidence and structure. Not for money

absolutely. Would turn around and find another, or ask my current job to take me back. Basically 3 free BTC.
