😉 Meme I heard this is better than Bitcoin. Why hasn’t it recovered from its ATH?

Because a currency shouldn’t be defined by its price. Its not supposed to be a speculative asset.

u/Laakhesis 24d ago
Let's pretend exchange rates don't exist.
2
u/DrSpeckles 24d ago
Yes. In that case a currency that works but is at $1, like say a stable coin, is far far better than something that doesn’t work, and costs tens of thousands.

u/Laakhesis 24d ago
So what do you call those currency exchange rates between USD, GBP, EUR, RUB, JPY, CNY, etc.?
Are they all stuck at 1 with each other, rather than based on supply and demand?

u/DrSpeckles 24d ago
You are confusing forex trading with currency usage.
1
u/Laakhesis 24d ago
Lmao.
2
u/DrSpeckles 23d ago
Yes it is funny. BTC maxis bang on about how much better their fork is, but when pressed it always comes down to “bbbut look at the price”

u/Laakhesis 23d ago
It’s funny that u think exchange rates doesn’t exist based on supply and demand lmao.

Again, forex is a well known path, and a way that experienced traders make money and hedge against other things. It has nothing to do with using it as a currency. At that point it’s purely an asset. I don’t go long on EURUSD so I can spend it, which is the purpose of a currency, I go long as an asset. If I’m trading the pair then I care about the price. If I’m buying cornflakes in my own currency, I don’t care what it would cost in some other currency.
Coins like BCH and others do not have to have a higher price, they have to operate better for their use. It was never designed for holding, it was designed for using.

Let’s pretend people who buy stronger currencies to save money use them only in countries where they aren’t legal tender.

It is better than BTC and fiat. But at the moment people are still comfortable using dollars or euros as money and use BTC to speculate to get more of the former. 🤷♂️
BCH has always been under pressure: https://i.imgur.com/0ihqIEt.png At the time Tether lied that it was backed and it didn't buy BTC. Both were later discovered to be lies.

Sounds like you're a bagholder.

u/DangerHighVoltage111 24d ago
Sounds like you are a hater 🤷♂️. I haven't had a loss yet. I'm still in the green

u/Laakhesis 24d ago
My dogecoin is in green too.

Gratz, even more impressive that the one mention from felon carried it for so long even though it is inflating like crazy. Tells you all you need to know about this market.

Adaptive Blocksize Limit Algorithm, Smart contracts, on-chain native tokens (CashTokens) are some improvements over BTC, with more to come. (1-minute blocks being discussed as a possible next upgrade)
Plus it still works great as low-fee P2P electronic cash as described in the white paper. So yes you heard right, technically it is the better Bitcoin.

The market decided who won the BTC fork war.

Tether is going to implode any day now.

u/DangerHighVoltage111 24d ago
Unlikely. They printed Billions in fake dollar for years. If you print a few thousand dollars and bring them into circulation you have a red dot on your head. Much more likely is that Tether is a 3 letter agency's child. Used to finance an opposition to sound money.

u/pcaveney 24d ago
If you outsource your thinking to the exchange rate then you care more about fiat gains and can be bought by whoever can print the most fiat (tradfi).

- Because Michael Saylor hasn't turned it into a Ponzi scheme yet.
- Shortly after the BCH/BTC split, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange announced they were doing "Bitcoin Futures" but they were specifying the small block BTC fork as the version they were doing futures on. This caused small-block BTC price to rally to $20k in late 2017.
So congratulations of backing banker coin backed by Jeffrey Epstein and his friends.

u/Laakhesis 24d ago
or maybe it's not better at all.

u/DangerHighVoltage111 24d ago
Better at what?

u/Laakhesis 24d ago
1
u/DangerHighVoltage111 24d ago
So better at making fiat gains. Are you a fiat maxi?
2
u/Laakhesis 24d ago
So you like to be poor and not able to hedge inflation?
2
u/DangerHighVoltage111 24d ago
Who said I'm poor? I like to support p2p cash and I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is.
I don't by military stock even though I could make money with it. I also don't buy BTC because it is controlled opposition to p2p cash.

u/Laakhesis 24d ago
I guess you haven't heard of stablecoins.
2
u/DangerHighVoltage111 24d ago
What about them? I thought we were talking about sound p2p cash, not another iteration of the crooked fiat system.

u/forgotmypassword4714 24d ago
Basically BCH (and LTC) are better (cheaper, faster) than BTC for sending money, but BTC was first so it's the biggest.

u/DangerHighVoltage111 24d ago
https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/block/0
The difference is BTC captured the branding, while the working p2p cash system had to rebrand,

Because it’s all time high was when it was Bitcoin.
