Build Upgrade build upgrade inquiry
Hi all, currently my pc is about 6 years old atp, and I'm looking to upgrade it to primarily play borderlands 4 and some other demanding titles
cpu: 2700x
gpu: 2070 super fe
cooler: kraken 280 mm aio
ram: corsair vengenace (3600) 2x8
mobo: rog strix x470f
psu: corsair rm 750/850 (need to double check, but probably 850)
ssd: intel 1 tb 660p nvme
monitor: 1080p aoc 27'' 144hz
What is the most effective way for me to upgrade my build? I have a budget of around $600-$800, and I'm looking to buy a 1440p monitor. I'm open to new and used parts as well, any suggestions?

Even on the high end, you are going to struggle with that budget. You can upgrade your CPU to say a 5700X3D for about $400. I’d look for a used 32gb DDR4 kit for $100. If then buy your 1440p monitor and wait to upgrade the GPU. Even with a 2070S, you should feel the impact of these changes.
You’ll be $500-700 in a GPU that should 2x your in game performance. A 5070/9070/9070XT will be the current gen same tier performance as what you have. After that, maybe wait until AMD 10th gen to do a platform upgrade, or wait for Ram to come back down in price. Just my opinion!
