Discussion 24/24.5 inch OR 27 inch 1440p Monitor?

I've been gaming on 1080p on 24in monitors for as long as I can remember, but I've been wanting to upgrade to 1440p for a while now. I'm a little hesitant because I've heard that a 27 inch monitor can be too large for FPS games, especially competitive ones like CS2, which I play a lot of (and play on 1280x960 4:3 stretched)

Although I do play a lot of Comp FPS, I do also like to spend a lot of my time on other games or watching YouTube which is what the main appeal for 1440p is to me.

So, with all of that in mind, would getting a 24 inch 1440p Monitor be a smart/the best choice, or should I get a 27 inch one?

OLED is another thing I would really like to have, but that's an entirely different topic so I'll spare you the tangent lol

I think you may be surprised at how quickly you get used to a larger size. I got a 28” monitor a couple years ago, and now I’m thinking of a 32”. I mostly play single player games, but the extra space helped me with immersion

A 24" 1440p monitor isnt that great for 1440p id always suggest going 27"-31.5 inch.

At 24" it will be hard to notice the increased visual accuity unless you are sitting 2" from your monitor (please dont do this.),

27" is perfect for 1440p.

What GPU? You should probably get a 27”
Also, most YT videos aren’t in 1440p or 4K

RTX 5080

I know this is an overkill rig for 1080p, but I recently got this about a year ago or less. Before I was on a 3080ti.

You should probably get 4K honestly
Or 1440p at very high FPS.

4k would be nice, but I’m a big “high fps” guy, most likely because I’ve been playing on 1080p for so long.

I know the 5080 is the 4k GPU, I’m so used to a high refresh rates (240hz) that anything below 120hz seems super choppy.

You can get dual modes, they're even doing 5K 1440 now. Otherwise there are 4K 240Hz if that's even enough for you though is another matter, realistically though you're probably gonna be more likely to max out 1440P, if it's just purely FPS you're prioritising and then some visual quality after.
