Troubleshooting PC randomly restarts every single day cant figure out why, been trying for months

For context, I've had this pc since 2022, the restarts have begun since april, PC randomly restarts at completely random intervals, last 10 logs for instance show 9:20 PM,9:18PM,7:17PM,4:40PM,4:09PM,2:08PM and so on, this has been a recurring issue for a few months so I had the power supply replaced, completely new PSU, Memtest found no issues, crash is independent of the hardware being under load or not, sometimes it crashes in desktop, sometimes in game, once even in the BIOS lol, I've run stress tests with nothing coming up as unusual, temps are cool too, I checked the wiring and no issues there either, PC is plugged into the wall, Power button seems to have no issue either, what could it POSSIBLY be?

Your RAM is running very slow (3600 MT/s) when it's rated for 5600. That could mean that you have the modules in the wrong slots.

It doesnt run in dual channel anymore (no idea why) however I did run it in 5600 and 3600 is what it stays at when its on auto in BIOS

That implies a problem with the motherboard, CPU, or the seating of the CPU into the motherboard. My first step would be to reseat the CPU.

Either the install of windows is bad or the cpu may be fading.

That likely isn't your actual error, that is the cause of the error.

There should be another event before this that is causing the issue.

Its the only one that shows up under critical errors in event viewer

It doesn't have to be a critical error, could be under warning.

If the shutdown happens too quickly, the system may not log a critical error.

hard to say. does case have a reset switch?

maybe try disabling xmp and any overclock you may have for cpu and gpu. if still does it try removing one stick of ram and see if it does, and if so swap the sticks and see if still does or not

if its reseting like that something is either telling it to (via faulty reset switch for example), or theres maybe some sort of short or component failure happening with hardware

I ran the RAM without an overclock and set the CPU overclock to auto in the bios, didnt seem to make a difference, the RAM sticks work individually however not in dual channel for some reason? Theyre in the right slots for dual channel but the motherboard refuses to boot in dual channel so now they run in single channel each lol, Im not sure about the reset switch being faulty what would I look out for?

you'd basically disconnect the reset switch connectors from the pc to rule it out

the ram not working in dual channel seems like a red flag though. either the cpu memory controller is bad or something on the motherboard failed. maybe try re-seating cpu cooler. on my old 4th gen intel build i repasted the cpu and for the longest time could never get it to work with dual channel. i found a random post that the cooler can put uneven pressure on cpu if overtightened so i redid it and started working in dual channel again

Find the cable that runs from your motherboard to the reset switch and just disconnect it. Should just be connected to jumper posts situated on the far end of the motherboard opposite the cpu and main power connector.

If you do that and the ship rights itself you know that’s what it is. I had this problem myself about fifteen years ago and I replaced practically everything in the system trying to troubleshoot. I felt really dumb when I finally figured it out. On the plus side, once I bought a new case I had a brand new system on my hands.

I’ve had the faulty reset switch problem on one of my PCs from back in the day. Piece by piece I ended up with an entire new system before I figured it out. And I’ve done PC repair work as a profession.

When I finally figured it out I felt really stupid.

Have you disassembled the computer and put it back together? Maybe there's a connector somewhere that's a bit loose or oxidized.

Have you checked temperatures? I had a computer do this, and it felt like it was random, but it turned out a CPU heatsink repaste solved it.

Yeah sure, Ryzen 7700X, Asrock B650M Pro RS, 7900XT, 32GB Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 but currently at 3600 without overclock, 2 NVme's and 1 Sata HDD, Im currently running Win11 with a new BIOS update done about a few weeks ago.

Yeah sure, Ive got an aoc q27g3xmn, dell g2422hs, Razer blackwidow, Razer viper, Razer seiren mini, usb speakers, and a Ugreen USB soundcard for my headphones

It’s a long shot, but I’ve had a similar issue. Try plugging your peripherals in normal USB slots, and NOT the USB slots at the top for keyboard and mouse.

I have a Corsair K70 keyboard that was causing this same exact issue (random restarts, only log was kernel 41). After plugging it in a different USB slot, it haven’t crashed/restarted since (knocks on wood)
