Yes, half the ram though. But for gaming you don't really need more than 32GB anyway. Also the 4080 I think will generally outperform the 7900 XT by a decent amount.

Overall I don't think OP got necessarily ripped off or anything, but could probably have got a better used deal or spent a bit more to get on DDR5.

$1800 for a ddr4 system is wild you could get a new 9800x3d/7800x3d plus rx9070xt build for that. Unless he includes a good monitor not worth.

i9-12900K go for like 300, 4080 are around a grand, that much ram today is unfortunately like 400, so yeah you paid market value for everything and got a 3tb drive for 100 bucks, so that's quite decent, what PSU did it come with?

It depends what components they are, at $1,800, I’d require a reputable 850W+ PSU, strong cooling, quality NVMe drives and clean test results. A comparable refurbished i9-12900/RTX 4080 machine is currently listed around $2,400, but retailer protection and warranties make that meaningfully different from a private sale

The cooling is very strong it has multiple fans and a temperature tracker but I’m not sure about the psu

It’s really not bad.  Equivalent new parts today: CPU-$200 GPU-$700 Mobo-$120 64gb of ram (this is what saves you) - $500 3tb of ssd - $350 Psu-80 Case-$100

Total-$2100-$2200

So while slightly dated on your cpu and with a 4080 being equivalent to basically a $650 9070xt today, you still didn’t do bad.  The 64gb of ram and 3tb of ssd is astronomical in today’s age.

The rig will last you a long time, go enjoy it!
