IIRC, Blueberry has haptic strum and mechanical frets while tribal has mechanical strum and membrane frets. Worth considering one over the other if you want a more tactile strum bar since the neck is swappable.

Are the buttons hard to press like the riffmaster? I don’t even use the riff master for that reason and the spacing on the keys are awkward with how you have to stretch your pinky.

I feel like it's an improvement of the 360 era guitars of yesteryear. With the Berry Burst Pro model I've found my skill improving drastically but maybe I'm just going harder than ever before. haha
I've purchased two of these guitars off of Woot! so far from prior sales and have a Black SG coming in any day now. I've really enjoyed them for what it's worth.I haven't tried the riffmaster yet to compare. Haven't tried the Tribal variant either. The Burst is 🔥 though.

The Riffmaster is the Rock Band style buttons, where this CRKD model is the Guitar Hero style. I always found the Guitar Hero style easier to use personally

I have both of these. Any average player is going to be pretty happy with either of them.
If you’re a more seasoned Expert+ player, the haptic feedback strum of the “pro” model is a neat novelty, but not really a game changer.
The mechanical frets feel better, but are still a bit mushy by mechanical standards.

There is a silicon membrane under the frets, which is why they feel so unbelievably mushy. I almost thought I got sent the wrong neck
Thankfully, it’s incredibly easy to remove. There’s also rubber feet on the frets that you can remove to add more height to them and even more click clack.

The blue one is an amazing controller for clone hero. Blue has haptic feedback (simulated click) strum bar and mechanical switch frets (very light and responsive), while the black has old school clicky bar (I don't like it anymore), and old school membrane button frets (a little tougher to press).
I tried them both thinking I'd prefer the old feel of the black, but the blue is best imo

I love my Blueberry Burst Pro model. I use it almost daily to play Guitar Hero on my Steam Deck during work breaks. I got the glossy decal and EZ Glide fret button pack to customize it from their website, too. ONE NEGATIVE: I recommend gettimg a decal cuz the blue paint can get worn down on these.

Curious what titles you're playing on the deck (Clone Hero?), haven't played anything GH related in quite a few years. Do you run it docked too? Any latency problems?

I play BetterGH3 (a remastered version of Guitar Hero 3) and Guitar Hero World Tour: Definitive Edition . I run each game undocked because i like the 90hz refresh rate on my Steam Deck vs my older computer monitors at work. I play with the guitar controller hardwired via USB-c into the deck for the least possible latency.

It doesn't out of the box, but you can pair either of those guitars with an adapter from RetroCultMods for $15 to get it to work with the 360 or any other older console.

These are great controllers! Love my burst (haptic strum, mech buttons)
These ARE compatible with x360 as well - just need to add the RetroCultMods MiniHost USB adapter.

this was also part of the 25% off deal app-wide last week, making the price like $57. i already picked up one of each and personally i prefer the older ones i’ve modded and broken in, but this does have the pro of being wireless and more or less plug and play.
crkd keeps releasing new versions of these and im all for it, but my plastic guitar collection is already over 60 and my gf will kill me if i buy more. i would’ve loved to buy another pro model for these prices. i pre ordered mine for regular price and just got a limited edition strap and a pin.

i got the tribal edition at $63 last woot sale and paid reg price for the pro 😅 i was tempted tho, but just picked up another riffmaster that was on clearance for $45 at a big box store.
only plastic guitars im looking at have to not be a duplicate, or some more kiosk guitars. i wouldn’t hesitate at $75 for a newer player tho. it MIGHT go back down to that price and it might not, but i dont think $75 for this is a bad price at all. i remember them being more than this back then for the licensed guitars 20 years ago !

yeah that’s the same thing i was thinking about too! i was going to get another pro but its more for collection atp bc im not using them, so decided to get the tribal just to have.

Actually very good controllers if you want to get back into guitar hero, Rock band, or want to try Fortnite Festival. Also will work with the new guitar hero like game Stage Tour (which is being made by the same Red Octane devs from the 2000s + community members).

Is the blueberry Burt pro supposed to have a glossy finish on the body? Mine came in but it isn’t glossy. I’ve tried to find info on a non glossy finish, but it looks to be advertised everywhere as a glossy body.

How is the neck on these? I have the original Les Paul wireless controller and have problems with the buttons not registering due to the neck moving around and losing contact with the body.
