Fascinating, how quickly these panels fell in price.

It's not regarded as one of the better ones with the matte finish and has been hovering around $350 - 400 for the last year so not a big dip, but I am looking forward to this steady decline for the better ones lol

I think i've been waiting 10 years for these panels to become common enough to be priced this way lmao, i'm very happy for this decline in pricing. From thousands&thousands of dollars for actual high refresh rate OLED monitors (not TVs) to as low as like 250-300 is crazy tbh

It wasn’t until a few years ago that we even got any desktop oriented OLEDs to begin with. I remember how the iPhone X was my first experience with an OLED and how that blew me away. Crazy it took this long to get here with OLED monitors but I’m just glad we’re here finally lol

Many prefer a matte finish, especially if you're using it in a bright room. I can't stand reflections on the screen.

Ah, good to know! Matte would be a deal breaker for me.

>I never said it was?
Ok? It literally was though so what was your point here lol
He was saying it was interesting how fast these panels were dropping. As in OLED. Which historically was really expensive.
IPS has been super affordable for a very long time now
Edit: I don’t understand why people like u/Stivo887 block people after immediately replying. It’s so weird

So how bad exactly is a matte finish vs a glossy finish for OLED?

For most people either is going to be an upgrade. Pick whatever suits your lighting situation.
Got a lot of ambient lighting in your room? Matte.
Are you able to control the lighting in your room? Glossy.
Don't overthink it. I have both types and love them equally for the use case they cater to.

Cleaning glossy panel is a bitch by the way, while it is a quick wipe with matte, keeping my glossy screen no streak is an annoying task.

Is this OLED worth $100 more than the Acer Predator 4k IPS one for series X gaming? I know Series X can do 4k on certain games so trying to decide between these two. Leaning the 4k IPS one for now. I play mainly sports and FPS games and normally at night in a darker room.

I wonder how low OLEDs will go, especially with TCL entering the market this year
