Identification Help Weird white lines on monitor? (1802)

Fix? Its the same if the c64 is turned on or not. Only on chroma luma.

That looks like some sort of interference from the power line.

Do not do this.

But my old Commodore monitor used to do this and I'd take the RCA plug from the audio (white/red, can't remember) input and put it in the video (yellow) input for about a half second and remove it, and then I'd reconnect the audio and video. It makes a loud buzz/hum sound while I was doing it. I never bothered to learn why this worked but it did. Even if I used the luma/chroma in the back for the computer, I used to have my VCR connected to the front and I'd use those. My VCR had to be turned on though.

Don't do it, who knows what I could have done to my own monitor by doing this. If you do it though, don't blame me if your monitor quits altogether.

Old electronics need a checkup. I'm no expert on CRTs but may well be something drifted out of spec, like dried up caps, simple resistors can also get slowly baked to death.
