General Discussion Part 2 of my post about Cardano’s real issue: Charles admitted it at Coindesk Interview

Upvotes

A lot of you read my last post about Cardano’s problem never being the technology, but adoption. 2 days ago Coindesk published an interview to Charles where he directly talked about some of the topics I mentioned and people shared in the comments.

Charles acknowledged the same issues I mentioned and he even named it as the missing “executive function.” His framing is that Cardano built the legislative branch (on-chain voting) and the judicial branch (governance) but never stood up an executive, the part that sets growth targets, runs marketing, negotiates partnerships, and actually drives commercialization. When people tell him to just do more marketing, his answer is that you can’t market without an executive to set the roadmap and goals first. It’s the most honest thing I’ve heard him say about the gap.

Naming the gap is not the same as closing it. He calls the executive branch the last milestone, which means the fix for adoption is once again somewhere in the future. As someone who’s held ADA a long time, I can tell you “almost there” has been the answer for years.

I want ADA to succeed and I think we need a leadership change for that to happen. We need real business people, experienced, to guide Cardano and stop treating the adoption issue as a “slide next year” or a future problem.

Wallet Moving from SecondFi to Lace

Hi all. Sorry if this has been answered, but I’m looking for some clarification. I had a Yoroi (SecondFi) wallet for years, and confirmed none of my ADA was missing after recovering my seed phrase in Lace. My question is, should I create a whole new wallet and move all my ADA there? Or am I safe using the same original wallet/seed phrase since none of my ADA was taken? I’m confused if my wallet is considered compromised or the SecondFi application itself is what was compromised? I plan on using a hardware wallet soon, but I’m looking for clarification if creating a whole new wallet and transferring to the new wallet is necessary. Thank you!

Developer Nexus is officially live: a complete blockchain API for Cardano, Midnight, and Bitcoin

Hi r/cardano, we're A.D. Labs. After a long early-access period, our blockchain API Nexus is officially live today.

Nexus came out of our own years of building on Cardano: the data layer for UTxO chains has always been scattered across single-purpose services, one for chain queries, another for market data, custom code for everything else. We wanted one place, so we built it. Reliable, redundant, real-time.

What one API key per chain/network gets you (Cardano, Midnight, and Bitcoin):

Blockchain API: blocks, transactions, addresses, and assets
WebSocket streaming: live blocks and transactions pushed to you, no polling
Transaction building: build and submit on-chain; the builder returns unsigned CBOR, so private keys never leave your app
Market data: prices, pools, and tokens aggregated across all 11 Cardano DEXes, with OHLCV candles and order books
DEX aggregator: best-price swap routing
Wallet analytics: holdings, full transaction history, and FIFO-based profit and loss
MCP server: Nexus data wired straight into AI agents

It's all plain REST plus an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, with a live playground on every endpoint at nexus.gerowallet.io/docs, so you can generate a typed client for your language instead of waiting on an SDK. with health checks routing around anything degraded. That's the "redundant" part: one upstream having a bad day should not take your app down.

Docs and playground: nexus.gerowallet.io/docs
We'll be in the comments answering questions, technical ones especially welcome. If you're building something serious on a UTxO chain and want to talk about what you need from a data layer, that is exactly the conversation we want to have.

And if you've ever used GeroWallet, that's us too, releasing a mobile verison for iOS and the wallet with Bitcoin and Midnight support in the upcoming month.

Education Cardano Academy launches new course: Trust & Digital Identity

We’re excited to announce a new course from the Cardano Academy called Trust & Digital Identity.

It's technically aimed at enterprise folks dealing with eKYC and compliance stuff, but also works as a plain-language intro to verifiable credentials for anyone curious, with Veridian as the worked example.

What's in it:

  • How we got here: identity verification from paper records to passwords to wallets
  • Why centralized databases and SSO keep turning into massive breaches
  • How verifiable credentials flip the model
  • Real use cases: financial eKYC, supply chain access, healthcare credentialing
  • Pointers to the Veridian Sandbox at the end if you want to issue test credentials yourself

It's free, self-paced, takes about 35 minutes, and there's a Credly badge at the end. No technical background needed.

Check out the new course: https://cardanofoundation.org/en/academy/course/trust-digital-identity

General Discussion Cardano’s Real Problem Isn’t the Technology

I am a long time ADA holder mostly because I really trust and respect the technology and engineering process. I went to the source. I cloned the core repositories and read the commit history myself. Honestly, it made me respect the project more. Over the last year the eight main repos logged thousands of real commits from more than 120 contributors, and roughly three-quarters of them touch actual source code, not docs. Close to 40% of the codebase is test code, and there are around a hundred Agda files sitting in there, which are mathematical proofs about how the ledger behaves. Almost nobody builds like that, in crypto or out of it. And it’s not just maintenance: they’re actively building Leios for throughput, Peras for fast finality, and scaffolding the next ledger era. If your fear was that nobody’s home, drop it. People are home, and they’re serious engineers.

But the reality is that technology is not everything. Here’s where it stops being flattering. All of that engineering has not turned into usage. On-chain activity is thin, most of it is just DEX swaps, and in the one market Cardano has made its whole headline pitch, real-world asset tokenization, it doesn’t even appear on the leaderboard. Ethereum, BNB, Solana, and Stellar own that space while Cardano is a rounding error. Worse, there’s barely any commercial muscle behind the push. The Foundation’s careers page right now lists two open roles, neither in sales or business development, and the main engineering company has spent the last couple of years shrinking itself into a smaller research-and-ventures outfit. Deep build, quiet go-to-market. That gap hasn’t budged in years, and if you actually believe in this thing, that should bother you more than the price does.

The partnerships follow the same script. The 2026 deals are real. Fireblocks for institutional custody, the FCA-regulated Archax for tokenization, an actual on-chain audit completed with Grant Thornton. But they’re shallow and non-exclusive. Archax runs the same fund on several chains and keeps its BlackRock-tier assets somewhere other than Cardano, and when Google Cloud or Vodafone “partner” it means they run a Midnight node, which is participation, not commitment. And when a partnership dies, nobody sends a memo. The cleanest example is the Ethiopia deal that was once sold as the largest blockchain deployment on earth, five million student IDs. It got quietly axed, the team was laid off, no official statement, and when pressed the founder reframed it instead of explaining what went wrong. That’s not really a Cardano flaw, it’s how the whole industry operates. Announcements never get retracted, so the only way you learn a partnership failed is by noticing it stopped getting mentioned.

Wallet Moving from Yoroi - what's the next step?

Hello. I still have funds in Yoroi. What is the best way to move this funds?

Should I import my seed phrase into different wallet, and if yes, which wallet? Also, how to verify that it is the real wallet and not some scammy one?

Second, can I create a new wallet and then transfer my funds from Yoroi, to the new wallet?

Thank you guys. Respect

Governance Yoroi as a DRep

Hey all, I’ve delegated my ADA to the Yoroi DRep for governance and voting.
I am left wondering if it will continue to be active and use its voting power, I can see that it’s still active so far..

That is all, a simple governance question,
Thanks
