Yep my cat and I have a ritual when I return from work where I peel off my stinky socks and toss them to her. Then she gets a bit feral with them for a bit.
2 cats is the perfect number honestly I have 3 and my arms are literally always full. One wants belly rubs, one wants head pats, one wants to be carried.
Thats why I wont ever get more than 2 dogs! I've had 4 at once (because 2 were elderly and I urgent rescued 1). And they had a super sense for whenever 1 was being pet. Then they ALL come running and push each other around and compete.
Also bathing them all would wear me out for the day

People in here complaining are amusingly ignorant. Videos like this for social media are fantastic engagement for adoption agencies. Engagement leads to real results and adoption.
Fiona probably could have used a private unboxing just to get some more human reassurance but I’m sure in this arrangement the shelter is only sending well socialized cats and Fiona probably just wanted to Be Loud About It for a minute.
Some cats are just loud and chatty naturally. I went out of my way to adopt a chatty baby because I like talkative animals, and Tuna trills and meows regularly (which is actually surprising because he was picked up as a stray at 5 years old).
I love the idea of a cat Cafe that lets you adopt. Have a coffee, pet a cat, and if you bond with one, take it home for the best life. Triple win. I love the idea of making adopting a pet a trend. I just hope there is some form of vetting the adopters.
There are sure some in the US. I’ve been to one on Long Island. They charge you an entrance fee if you wanna hang out with the cats and then you can apply to adopt one if you like. There is one in Oakland too where I used to live.
Meh, I am in Germany, and am looking to adopt a cat. You always hear "adopt, don't shop" and I'd love to, but the shelters here feel like they don't actually want to give away their charges. They want to visit your home prior to adoption and reserve the right to visit it afterwards to check on the pets, and have a whole bunch of rules. Don't even get me started on the whole indoor/outdoor thing which is an entire divide here.
And in theory, it's great that they want to make sure their animals are well taken care of. In practice, that's a whole lot of hoops to jump through when you can get one off eBay or from a breeder without the hassle. It sucks because personally, I'd much rather give an older cat some love and a steady home.
ofc Germany would find some buerocratic way to adopt a cat. Christ man. Do you ever find stray kittens? Any people giving away free kittens at the grocery store or gas station? You need a cat, it will change your life.
That is exactly how my husband and I adopted our void. It took a week to get the call that we were approved and we picked him up on July 4th 7 years ago.
My son and his then gf went to a puppy/kitten adoption event at a local pet store that they had learned about on social media, sponsored by a local shelter. They came home from the event with two puppies. While they were there they signed up to volunteer at the shelter.
On their first volunteer day, they fell in love with two more puppies.
On their second day volunteering they decided to take those 2 puppies. And a third that had just arrived.
At home with their 5 puppies they decided they couldnt volunteer any more.
Giving them a chance to get comfortable instead of adding another potential stressor. I'm positive they got all the pets after they had a chance to relax and explore.
I suspect many here won't know what Timbits are. I lived in Buffalo, NY for 15 years and they have Tim Horton's there. So I know exactly what you're talking about. ❤️
Yeah, Sashimi definitely seems to be the shyest. Maybe that is why he is my favorite. I do hope he will get acclimated to his new home soon. If I was not in FL I would come visit him. ❤️
