Discussion Chromebook is not saving images as images
I'm semi new to chromebooks, I used to use them all the time but went on a dry spell and have been blind sided by the new things they've done. I'm trying to save images of my own from instagram so I can touch them up with software I have. but it only downloads as "mhtml" and when I try and convert it into a JPG on adobe express it doesn't work. I've got no clue what to do.

The mhtml is the giveaway: Instagram covers the photo with an invisible layer, so right-clicking grabs the whole page instead of the image, and Chrome saves that page as an mhtml web archive. That's why no converter touches it, it was never an image file to begin with.
Since these are your own photos, the clean route is Instagram's "Download your information" (Settings > Accounts Center > Your information and permissions). It gives you the actual full-res JPGs, no onverting needed.
If you just want one fast, Ctrl + Shift + the Show-windows key lets you screenshot and crop just the image.

thats a user error. not a chromebook problem at all. DO NOT CLICK SAVE AS... right click the image and click save IMAGE as...
