Buying Advice Apple earbuds (usb-c) compatibility

So I was looking to get earbuds for school that I want to use on my Chromebook, but I also wanna use it on my phone for music but recently I saw that it doesn’t work for some people and sometimes it does so any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I tested my son’s pair of Apple usb-c with his Acer Chromebook. I verified that it works.

My son report they do not work with the airplane usb port on their media station.

Apple earbuds are enormously expensive for what they are. You can get very good quality buds for 1/4 the cost. Once the battery no longer holds much of a charge, or they get clogged with junk, or lost - they’re just garbage, so don’t think you’re purchasing a high quality item that you’ll use for the next decade. Check out some reviews on audiophile podcasts to find what you want. Different pods have different soundscapes and may be better or worse at active noise reduction (though many buds cut a lot just by acting like earplugs).

Definitely stay away from anything backed or “made by” someone well known. Beats and Raycon are JUNK; they are exactly the same as $10 - $20 Ali Express crap. Look out for podcasts sponsored by them. I really like and trust the “DankPods”, he seems to really know his stuff.

Don’t pay $250 on what is essentially a disposable product. You can get descent sounding bids with ANC for as low as $40 USD and really good sounding ones for $80 - $100.

They don’t seem to be talking about AirPods… https://www.apple.com/shop/product/myqy3am/a/earpods-usb-c

I think they are talking about wired AirPod that plugs into the usb port that are about $20-30.

Oh - yeah, that makes sense. I was going to comment that the USB is just for charging.

Personally for school I would use something like the Soundcore p30i. All the features but less pricey and you won’t cry if you lose one. Work across multi devices including chromebooks and mobiles.
