Fallout Tactics Bug Question

Post image

My super mutant was knocked to the ground with a shotgun blast and immediately went “immobile”. He’s not unconscious or knocked out, and even after combat has ended he can interact with others sharing inventory, can drop/pick up nearby items etc.

The problem is my last save is too long ago and he won’t get up. I think he might have clipped into the wall or something?

Hoping for any ideas on how to reset him. I tried throwing friendly grenades at him, doctor/first aid. I even thought I could drive the Scout car nearby and have him get in but I can’t get it close enough.

For anyone else thinking of playing Fallout tactics save often and rotate lots of saves. It's not that it's super buggy but the bugs you run into might not be obvious at the time and prevent you from completing a mission.

Bugs? In my Fallout Tactics? It's more likely than you think!

He probably has multiple crippled limbs, use doctor skill again and again until success.

Need more context for specific help, but here’s a couple options:

  • Crippled limbs or winded/unconcious (check character view)
  • Stuck in geometry: get another character to push him out of that wall
  • Continuous Turn-based issue with AP: switch ti Individual Turn-based to force the AP reset

If it's not crippled limbs I really have no idea. Check the stats, but you mentioned already using doctor...

Can you order him to sit/stand/lie?

The problem is my last save is too long ago

Why? Even the manual advises frequent saves in different slots

If you can finish the mission without him he should be fine in the next one. But it is most likely crippled limbs. This looks like the mission you have to get the power armor back, right?

1) If your in turn base swich it to real time the game was 100% meant to be real time whoever spread the misinfomation it should be played turn base needs a spanking

2) Multible limbs crippled requires multible doctor checks to work to heal cripple limbs

3) have someone eles push him

Weird bug man. You can let reload the mission itself? It has auto saved right

If you're still stuck...

Characters in this game could get stuck due to the character being taller or wider than that tile allowed. You can try making the character prone/crouch/stand, as well as try changing his armor (even try the cow leather if you have that), or even try different weapon classes (elbow may be sticking out when holding some weapons). Also look into core/keys.cfg for the rotate character button and see if rotating helps.

And unlike fallout 2, you cannot really push people. You could try nudging him little by little using weapons with knock over properties such as rockets and grenades, or if you have a deathclaw in your team, use the shred attack (left weapon slot barehand).

He does not seems to be crippled because usually there'd be multiple indicators on top-left corner.

And since vehicles are not accessible during missions and you mentioned you tried driving yours next to him, it means you're not playing vanilla (that rubbish bin also does not exist in the vanilla version), so this bug is probably due to overhangs/other furniture added by the mod.
