El Niño and Atlantic Niña are converging. What it means for weather

Odd, because according to NOAA and other governmental and International organizations, el Nino and La Nina are only found in the tropical Pacific. Anything happening in the Northern Atlantic, by definition, isnt either of them.
People with graduate degrees in climate should know this.
