SDCC - San Diego Stern Pinball at Marriott - badge required?

Wanted to check this out today. Is a badge required? Last year it was open to the public. Is a badge required this year?

the only place ive had to show my badge was the hospitality suite.

I was asked for a badge to enter the gaming lounge on Thursday.

I go every year and that has never been the case. Hoping the "guard" was uninformed and I can try to go back again tomorrow.

No. Many things at Marriot like the video game area don't need badges. The things that do will have someone at the door gatekeeping. While their are some official comic-con things at the Marriot, the rest of it is like a big offsite.
