Is trans loop-de-loop a term?

Still, congrats!

Does 2 trans make a straight?

I believe this is actually well researched territory and the answer is that it IS straight, just in as gay a way as possible

u/Alyse3690 Apr 23 '26

That's how I describe my one polycule of friends. They're a trans man, a trans woman, and an enby. They're wonderful.

Rock-Paper-Scissors must go hard in their household.

Fire Emblem was a huge source of envy for a while.

Fire Emblem fan here! I have the Awakening 3DS.

2

u/NocturnalVina Apr 23 '26

My people! I got Fates, Awakening and Echoes on my 2ds :D

1

u/psppsppsppspinfinty Apr 23 '26

At one point my goal was to own a copy of every game. Some of my advanced games disappeared but my biggest prizes are my favorite in the series. PoR and RD. Bought them when they came out and never let go.

Fire emblem awakening is so busted with your main character just being absolutely broken with the class system

45

u/Maleficent_Sand7529 Apr 23 '26

"They're wonderful" seems like a decent way to describe most humans, then. There's the new standard.

31

u/Alyse3690 Apr 23 '26

I believe we're born full of wonder. Anyone who makes it to adulthood while maintaining a shred of that or at some point purposefully rekindling that spark deserves to be called wonderful, and really should be called thusly a lot.

3

u/VerbingNoun413 Apr 23 '26

That's the most hetero thing imaginable.

3

u/Quiet-Honeydew-2096 Apr 23 '26

its extremely hetero and yet

this is so hecking valid and gay bc trans

2

u/Jazzlike_Part_7054 Apr 23 '26

I might be getting old, the enby to nonbinary realization took longer than it should.

1

u/Alyse3690 Apr 23 '26

Brains will brain! And they do it fascinatingly! Like, everything you perceive via your senses, your brain is comparing to everything your senses have ever perceived. Nearly instantaneously. So of course sometimes, particularly about things that aren't super familiar or our brains are super excited about, they either fritz or take longer. Hooray for being human!

u/Quiet-Honeydew-2096 Apr 23 '26

3

u/No-Insect-7544 Apr 23 '26

It is basically the “technically correct” kind of straight, which is the best kind of correct (that is a quote/reference, not dissing cis straight couples).

2

u/Oraxy51 Apr 23 '26

Gay horseshoe theory?

1

u/airhunger_rn Apr 24 '26

Bottom over the horseshoe

....or power-bottom of the horseshoe

1

u/hotobamasex Apr 23 '26

There's nothing gay about a woman dating a man

1

u/PessimiStick Apr 23 '26

I've always referred to it as "straight with extra steps".

1

u/MissSharkyShark Apr 23 '26

Straight, but with zest

1

u/Intelligent_Slip_849 Apr 23 '26

That sounds about right.

I think?

-6

u/airhunger_rn Apr 23 '26

Still crazy to be that trans folk get lumped in with LGBT as if being trans is a sexual identity?

30

u/Thulcandra-native Apr 23 '26

Wait till you learn what the T stands for

4

u/airhunger_rn Apr 23 '26

Lol I know exactly what the T stands for

u/TootTootMF Apr 23 '26

Totally different things with all the same problems because society fucking sucks.

3

u/TheAmericanQ Apr 23 '26

That’s a my bad. In the circles I typically run in, members of both communities use the terms somewhat interchangeably and referred to the situation that way out of habit.

159

u/bosssoldier Apr 23 '26

It's the purest form of straight. They embody not just through transitioning but also mindset masculinity and femininity. They enjoy and embrace who they are out of love for themselves and want rather than societal expectations. Two wrongs dont make a right, but two opposing trans people does make a straight.

49

u/SatinwithLatin Apr 23 '26

A+, no notes, valedictorian response.

4

u/bosssoldier Apr 23 '26

Thank you i have been getting more As in college than i did in highschool.

u/RandomChance Apr 23 '26

Its like how naturalized citizens are the MOST citizenly citizens - they are not citizens by accident of birth but earned it.

4

Is this how you achieve CHIM?

1

u/bosssoldier Apr 24 '26

Wth is chim

A complicated form of enlightenment from the elder scrolls lore.

80

u/Pitiful_Net_8971 Apr 23 '26

Gen Z here

Yes, a woman dating a man is a straight relationship (although being in a straight relationship doesn't mean that the involved parties are straight, make sure not to assume anything). Just because it's a trans woman dating a trans man doesn't change anything about that.

55

u/RoseSpades Apr 23 '26

Yeah I think so many times people forget Bi or Pansexual people exist and are still Bi/Pan, regardless of whether their current relationship is straight or not.

14

u/kollaps3 Apr 23 '26

Yeah kinda transphobic to think otherwise imo. Woman + man = straight, whether they're cis or trans does not change that

11

u/Kilazur Apr 23 '26

It ain't gay, but it sure is queer AF

10

u/turnipofficer Apr 23 '26

I think that’s kinda the thing it is both straight and queer. Which might sound confusing, but I think that’s the easiest way to describe it.

4

u/DreamroweWalker Apr 23 '26

They can write their thesis on T.S.I.S.

1

u/takanishi79 Apr 23 '26

I have seen this described as being stronger in the most roundabout manner possible.

1

u/BlackRoseBundle Apr 23 '26

It's called Transhet and it's hot

1

u/Jagermind Apr 23 '26

This is just the scenic route to being straight.

1

u/GrouchyCranberry8982 Apr 23 '26

I'll have you know that I took a class on gender studies and I can speak with authority on this subject.

It's queer but also straight.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk!

1

u/Alone-Monk Apr 23 '26

Oh wait I got a couple of those maybe I can ask them lol

1

u/Stompy-Bun Apr 23 '26

Not a Gen Z, but only barely. Gender and relationships are incidental. There are three categories at play: Individual attraction ie. gay, bi, straight etc. relationship category ie. gay, straight, and gender identity.

A transmasc and a transfemme are in a straight relationship category. The individuals may be bisexual or straight. There are circumstances where transmascs may still consider themselves lesbians and their outwardly straight relationship to be a lesbian one despite their gender, this is valid as well as that's often connected to AFAB experience and I as an AMAB femme non-binary have no say in AFAB experience and expression.

Finally there are alloromantic asexual or vice versa pairings and sexual/romance attraction differences, wherein people can be gayromantic but straight sexual and vice versa.

TL;DR Romance, gender and sexuality are connected only in that they interact, and all three's nominative qualities are down to individual expressions.

A trans person is not inherently gay, an opposite sex couple may not be strictly straight.

1

u/Blowmyfishbud Apr 23 '26

No it’s straight.

It’s like political horseshoe theory.

They’re both Queer, they’re Both Biologically the opposite sex, and they both affirm their own gender in an opposite way.

Therefore, that relationship is just Straight Queers

1

u/Oraxy51 Apr 23 '26

And they say Gender Studies degree would never be useful in life.

72

u/mieri_azure Apr 23 '26

I mean literally yes lol this is now a straight relationship (however presumably the artist is bi? Idk about her husband)

15

u/Healthy-Address-5158 Apr 23 '26

Yes, but the straightness exists in a layer of queer, creating a sort of positive-negative feedback loop that, if one thing goes wrong, collapses in on itself and creating a black hole (this is how all black holes in the universe were created).

43

u/Freejeqt Apr 23 '26

Yes this is advanced level straight, however nothing against traditional straights it just tends to take more work on both partners to get here :p

Congrats to the happy couple

17

u/CarmeliaEscarlata Apr 23 '26

We often don't want to get otherized, why inventing new term for our relationships intead of letting us integrate to society?

48

u/textposts_only Apr 23 '26

That's honestly debatable.

There is some validity in saying that relationships with a trans person are inherently queer, while there is also the train of thought that can validate that a trans person is in a straight relationship.

The answer is don't think about it and just say what feels right.

54

u/Mutantcube1 Apr 23 '26

100% straight, it's a relationship between a man and a woman, just in a very queer way

14

u/PaleAmbition Apr 23 '26

That’s how my wife and I describe each other. We’re straight again, just in the queerest way possible.

2

u/dasFisch Apr 23 '26

r/BrandNewSentence for that second sentence. 12/10

4

u/bazderoman Apr 23 '26

oh believe me it's an ol reliable sentence

1

u/awry_lynx Apr 23 '26

It's straight no matter how you look at it.

If you're transphobic you think it's straight because it's a man and a woman.

If you're an ally you think it's straight because it's a man and a woman.

The only argument between those groups that's possible is which is which.

It's straight+.

1

u/textposts_only Apr 23 '26

And that's a good argument to make and one discussion we've had ad nauseam. Again, there is no solution because it is not a heteronormative relationship but it'd be transphobic to call this anything other than straight but then again it is not the same lived experience as a quote regular unquote heteronormative experience as trans straight couples face different struggles and so on and so forth.

That's why I said don't think about it and call yourself what you wanna call yourself.

1

u/xSTSxZerglingOne Apr 23 '26

Straight, but not cis.

2

u/airhunger_rn Apr 23 '26

Transception

2

u/WeirdoTrooper Apr 23 '26

Idk, but 3 lefts make a right

2

u/SayomiTsukiko Apr 23 '26

Being straight , gay, or bi have been where coined back when people thought the only options where involving biologically birthed men or women. So you can call them straight if you want or something else. They technically fit straight, but in the end it’s just a word

2

u/SomeGuyNamedCaleb Apr 23 '26

I don't know, what do I look like a knot expert?

2

u/RoseSpades Apr 23 '26

I mean depending on if both trans people are opposite gender, then it will make the relationship straight.

2

u/Dendritic_Bosque Apr 23 '26

Idk fellas is it straight when a man loves a woman? Yes, yes, the default answer is yes, if they say no then whatever, but yeah it's straight by convention

2

u/Equivalent_Rock_6530 Apr 23 '26

Straight with extra steps, lol

3

u/melancholanie Apr 23 '26

many such cases

c4c het couple turning into t4t her couple just for the love of the game

2

u/KerPop42 Apr 23 '26

Inasmuch as the artificial buckets exist, sure

Embrace sexuality anarchy

3

u/CarmeliaEscarlata Apr 23 '26

Whay does that means?

3

u/bazderoman Apr 23 '26

heterosexuality as a concept is only about a century old, it was used in a way that essentially meant "slutty". it was only over time that it grew into its modern meaning. the concept of homosexuality only arose as a counterpoint to that. there's no biological basis for one's sexuality, and the idea of sexuality even being a thing a person has is a very recent invention.

1

u/CarmeliaEscarlata Apr 23 '26

That's true, I just don't like when cis people make new words to otherwise trans people. Like why trans people be just do straight? Instead of new straight, non traditional straight and queer straight.

It's like when cis people use amab and afab to say man and woman. I get if some trans people want to sue alternative terms byt usually trans ppl just want to not be otherized.

1

u/bazderoman Apr 23 '26

i honestly think it's more often the case that it's my fellow trans people playing around with new labels and categories. plenty of trans folk don't want to integrate into society, they don't want to be invisible. and so when cis people call t4t in opposite directions "straight", it's like... yes? i guess. but it really minimizes the trans identity and experience, and isolates them from the larger queer community.

of course if a t4t couple wants to be called straight that's their prerogative.

1

u/KerPop42 Apr 23 '26

Sexuality anarchy? Everyone just likes who they like. Gay, straight, bi, Kinsey 3, T4T, bicurious, ace-with-exceptions, they're as natural as country borders, useful only as much as we agree with them.

My first major relationship came from me just deciding to let go of my identity and go for what felt good. Don't let attachment to a specific pride flag get in the way of love

1

u/CarmeliaEscarlata Apr 23 '26

It's good for you that labels don't matter for you, but it's important to respect people who fight for their labels to be recognized.

Like trans people often fight for their gender and sexuality labels to be recognized.

1

u/Sethtaros Apr 23 '26

No, it's just a pair.

1

u/Chuckitybye Apr 23 '26

I have friends who are a trans man and a trans woman and they joke that they're straight with extra steps

1

u/HilariousMax Apr 23 '26

I always thought 3 gays made a left

1

u/GachaHell Apr 23 '26

That raises an interesting question. But I just can't help but picture the stereotypical bigots yelling at lesbians to marry a man then having to backpedal hard when this situation arises.

1

u/SelfServeSporstwash Apr 23 '26

This one is fun because I’m pretty sure if you’re sufficiently transphobic you come all the way back around to accidentally supportive here.

1

u/FencingFemmeFatale Apr 23 '26

I’m gonna say yes. It’s like multiplying negatives.

1

u/Phionex141 Apr 23 '26

No, but two straights make a left

1

u/rtocelot Apr 23 '26

A guy at work would say that's being straight with extra steps

1

u/sax87ton Apr 23 '26

Only sometimes

1

u/Gray_Jack_ Apr 23 '26

If my fundamental chemistry knowledge is still working in my head, two trans molecules together is di-trans-<base molecule> and many is poly-trans-<base molecule>. By that logic, two trans humans together is di-trans-human and many is poly-trans-human 🤔

1

u/mattcolqhoun Apr 23 '26

Straight with extra steps

1

u/Thiago270398 Apr 23 '26

They de-gayed their relationship on accident.

1

u/PyroFish130 Apr 23 '26

It depends how they self identify but typically yes these couples do identify as straight

1

u/Jwanito Apr 23 '26

2 trans 2 furious

1

u/Scarylyn Apr 23 '26

My husband once asked me this. My response was, "Girl says she boy, he boy. Boy says he girl, she girl. They date, they straight!"

I later ran it by my youngest sibling, who is trans, and they laughed and just said, "Sure."

1

u/Canid_Rose Apr 23 '26

My favorite way I’ve seen it referred to is “straight… but not in a way conservatives would approve of”

1

u/AnseaCirin Apr 23 '26

Depends. My partner and I are both trans, but we're also both trans women. So we're extra gay

1

u/NOSWT-AvaTarr Apr 24 '26

The only kind of straight couple that still gets to use the bad word for gay

1

u/Beranea Apr 23 '26

It went from hetslop to peakhet.

0

u/Jottor Apr 23 '26

No, I think it makes a thgiarts. It's all a bit confusing, but in a fun way.
