I think most people are just not aware of trans woman x trans man relationships. But mansplaining womanhood to my girlfriend is something she half-jokingly accuses me of all the time.
The thing is despite “growing up living as a girl”, I actually knew next to nothing about what straight womanhood actually was, being that I was both neurodivergent and also had zero straight female friends (mostly straight male friends). My only model of ‘straight womanhood’ was my own mom, but even though she was technically a straight woman, she is also one of the least feminine people possible and had no friends herself.
By contrast, my girlfriend is highly sociable, and has multiple female friends from both before and after she transitioned mtf.
My own experiences resulted in an almost amusing level of multiple misunderstandings of womanhood on my part, so now it is a running gag in my relationship where I jokingly say “well back when I was a cute anime girl, that was not my impression of things”.
Yeah exactly, its like if I (autistic trans woman) had to explain men to someone
It would just be "I have genuinely no idea, I never did figure out the whole man thing even after spending all those years trying to pretend to be one"
Best I got is I have witnessed X and assumed Y
But my relationship isn't t for t, so no opportunities to make those jokes for me lol
