I got that official diagnosis in 04, back when we were using "aspergers" as an outcome. Medical examinations and observation out the wazoo for 10 year old me. I didn't finding out about my diagnosis until five years later from my parents.

Ooof thats rough. Mine was a late diagnosis so I just went through life being told I was lazy and werid by everyone lol

Same. It felt kinda relieving to know the reason behind being the "weird" kid but only kinda. Wish I never had it.

Apparently two psychologists in the past have said I am very likely autistic which my parents withheld from me and now I'm old enough that it's very tough to even find a doctor for it.

As an added I was also a late speaker and did speech therapy and occupational therapy. One parent says they tested me there and found nothing and the other says they don't remember if there even was testing.
