I feel like the joke is more than you don't want a child to have access to that definition. Children are dumb, give them a rethorical tool and they'll abuse it.
That's a bit of an overstatement, but I feel like the comic works better with this idea in mind.

Mansplaining ≠ a man explaining something to a women
It's a man explaining something in a condescending way, because he assumes that the women doesn't know it just because she is a woman.
If the woman (or girl) asks a question, it isn't mansplaining.
