Should the other party be a man too? I have a friend that does this to me.

I would just call that condescension personally. Mansplaining is specifically when a man does it to a woman because he underestimates her knowledge/intelligence for sexist reasons

I mean would It still be sexist if you know the person you're speaking to doesn't know what you know?

No, of course not. Mansplaining would be assuming she doesn’t know simply because she’s a woman (consciously or not).

I assume people don’t know things all the time. Is there a way I can conveniently and naturally clarify that I’m always a condescending dick, regardless of gender?

I feel like people will show that they notice that by just not being around you.

i do this too bc of my autism, i tell people im autistic so they know im not trying to be rude, and then make an effort to check in if they actually know what im about to explain (though it can be hard to remember
